"Humbrum"

The lastest colection is now online, featuring some time in the Dales last weekend, in our 'new' VW Campervan ('79 bay Westfalia conversion) - Sorry to be picky Eirene - it's not a '76 !

we just bought a camper van. she is beautiful. Blue 1976 and a great addition to dragon drop. christened humbrumn i am sure we will all have many adventures in her the first of which is womad at the end of july.its amazing, the previous owner handed her over along with several copies of ' volks world '. There is such a huge culture devoted to these vehicals and we have just opened the door to it. A ticket to a side of the world I havent expericed before. I cant wait.

Another fantastic weekend under our belts. It seems that it takes quite a while after babies to get back to life outside home or as my dad said to be seen as other then an interior economist (thats house wife to you and I). It really is due to the lovely people we have around us who make it possible for our social lives to exist so a huge thank you to you all. Really enjoyed Spider man. The effects were amaziing and kept me gluesd to the screen more so then the new star wars cant wait for the rest to be released. Afterwards I bounced home pretending to shoot web from my wrists and feet ( I know now that it isnt feet) and scaling walls to the amusment/fear/astoishment of passers by. Tday have had lots of fun and it is only 1524. Went to Joes Garage to put in an order for a van to carry us to womad. the reality of two adults and two kids sleeping in a two man tent nightmare kicked in after ticket purchase and it was felt by all thay a van is very much needed. Met Joe who is one of the people I have known for ages but had gone past the name asking stage so when he appeared it was a case of ''oh hello so you are Joe well isnt it a mall world. So keep fingers cvrossed fo a beauty van to come our way.
Ciao for now

Weekend consisted of baby sitting on Friday night, Footy on Saturday, Fathers day on Sunday.
Footy - what a result. Fathers day - top day. great prezzy form the boys - quality bottle of Whiskey, and a couple of proper whiskey glasses. Mmmm Smoooth.
Went to see Spiderman on Monday. Great film, perhaps a little bit of a cheese factor. Great special effects. I'd love one of them suits. I was told that there were 3 of them made, each costing $100,000. 2 of them got nicked !
Steady away week. Big topic of conversation seems to be about the Brazil v England match on Friday. Fingers Crossed.

ENGLAND 0 - NIGERERIA 0
(Whooscored!!)
Madcap few days of total contrast. Fairly messy weekend, unplanned as such but ended up bumping into a few friends on Friday. My intention was to go out for a couple of pints, and observe the world cup feaver. I was the only sober pedestrian when I got out. Everyone and his dog was squiffed, painted white and red. Ended up to be slightly more than a couple of pints and a bit of casual observation.
Saturday.. nice nice nice. Went up to the Dales to stay with Chris who is fresh back from France (unlike the national football team who are fresh back tofrance.) . His house, which I have never been to before is snuggled up in a far corner of Warfedale. Ahhh the view was epic. About 200 feet on a cliffside, looking right down a perfect view of the valley and the river below. Nice collection of people. We had a really great BBQ, with fresh fish caught earlier in the day (and some great snags and lamb). After dark, it again got quite messy, and we ended up rambling around the dales in total darkness. very interesting. Felix and Jaygo joined us on Sunday, and the rain trapped us inside for most of the day. Massive fry up, followed by a trip to the local village pub to drink some real ale Timothy Taylors best. (run out of landlords).
So - that was the weekend - chilled outness in the dales.
Yesterday, I re-immersed myself in rat race, by a trip across the horrid M62 to Liverpool for a meeting in the Liver Building (nice building right on the Mersey) followed by a jaunt down the equally horid M6 and M42 to the NEC near Birmingham for a trade show (called interbuild). Where I wandered round, chit chat to some people and won a football.
Dales v City ?..... Dales 3 City 0.

ENGLAND 1 - ARGENTINA 0
(Huraah!)
Seems like ages since I last did a 'proper blog'. I have been going through the transitional period from Hot tropics, Low stress, to cold UK, part of the machine again. It's not as bad as it seems. It's good to be back.

Went to a mini festival last Sunday - at the water mill in Patley Bridge. Felix enjoyed sitting on my shoulders, watching the live music. Got a pleasant surprise from the (rather polished rough diamond), band 'Premier', who I haven't seen before - pretty much a U2 covers band, but great Pseudo Bono - spot on singing voice, agreeable pseudo Edge as well. Felix's only complaint was that he didn't know the words Ahh well – that’s rock and Roll.

Work Work and a bit of work.. lots of meetings, and new and improved systems for me to get my teeth into. A very short 'intro week' though - Wednesday, Thursday, Drove to Derby and back this morning and oh look, it's nearly the weekend. All my clients and people that I need to call are mysteriously 'out of the office for the afternoon' today.

Hopefully going to Grassington up in't Dales to see a friend and have a bit of Country Pub real ale. Right - back to it..

Got over jet lag now and have seen just about everyone now. I'ts nice being back. Parts of the big Australia adventure already seem like a dream. There are some fantastic memories now stored in my head, and I feel so much better for it.
Had a nice BBQ last night with Cajun chicken, shish kebabs and a snags and burgers. Tasty. Had a great collection of people round and it was a lovely night.
Being back in 'my own computer land' I am stumbling across technical problems with things. Archives on my blogs are going funny. there's some big old chunks of the last couple of months missing. blummin computers.
