Check this out - fully inversive virtual reality !

Such a clever idea - It looks very plausible. The possibilities are endless. Tron? / Lawnmower man? / The future?.

So - quick recap on the bits I missed, and life up to date, as I just about know it....
Friday - Went out for a quick pint with Dave on the evening after epic "I'll never forget it" type journey back from Luton. Ended up going back to his house, with Jamie, and Al joined us. Dave's mum, who is down from The Highlands of Scotland at the moment fed us haggis, tatties and neeps. Top spot. Followed by some of her superb cake.
We then watched a film - "Sexy Beast" - It's a gangster film staring Ray Winstone, Ben Kingsley and a few other winning Brit actors. - very good.
A telly day ensued on Saturday, due to the pants weather(No complaints from the wee men). Watched England Thrash S.Africa at the Rugby (Dave and Jamie were there, so we were trying to spot them in the crowd) Eirene and Nees died there hair. Nees now has bright red hair and Eirene has blond dreds. Sunday, bit of this, bit of that. Bit of a tabla lesson in the afternoon, and a bit of fixing up my mates website.
Then - this morning. Arrgh ! everything and it's dog was boiling over. I'm going to waft home now.

Yesterday - went to Luton ish, and the traffic was pretty bad on the way back. All the big motorway signs said "FIREFIGHTER STRIKE PLEASE DRIVE WITH EXTRA CARE" Saw some of the green goddesses. They look dated. Carry on Firefighting style 50's Green Goddess Engines. Don't feel that safe driving / being inside at the moment !
Eirene and Neese are bleaching / colouring / doing something with their hair. Neese has just come down with orange hair. Looks cool !

"DragonDrop Adventures"
Well - I've got a few photo's off a mate who was in Amsterdam at the same time as us (Steve's stag party). Here's me, in a DragonDrop adventure shirt, standing on Damrak with Centraal Station behind me.
I'm rather hoping to get loads of shirts shots, with a write up of the adventure as a new section of the site.
So - If you are planning on going someplace cool, drop me a line and grab a shirt (I'll probably ask for a measly, cost covering £12 for the shirt)
More info on this soon..
I've had a pretty hectic old week so far. Lots of flying around the North. Full work week - no time for much else. Tomorrow, I'm off to Luton, which I'm strangely looking forward to.. (?)

Major Meteor Storm Tonight..
Europeans should see hourly rates between 500 and 1,000, or about 8 to 16 per minute, during an outburst around 0400 UT (UT - Universal Time, equates to GMT!)

Pub Brunch Bunch
Simon, Eirene, The kids and myself are sat in a pub called "The Retreat".
Awaiting some scran. I've gone for liver and mash, everyone else, seems to
hate this idea and have gone for a fry up. More liver for me I guess. I
love the stuff. Got us into a discussion about me all the love / hate foods
that exist.. Marmite, Liver, Kidney, Tripe, Black Pudding, Avocado, Cottage
Cheese... any others?

Yea so what a slacker I've been this past week. Loads of stuff happened. Felt v.rough for the early portion of the week, due to a fun fun fun weekend. Legendary. The 8 stag chaps eventually got to Amsterdam, late Friday night. Went to a coffee shop shortly after checking in and it went from there really. A tour of the city on foot (miss not having a bike out there !) after meeting up with an old acquaintance. Not much in the way of sleep occurred. Saturday, it was out for a croque mousier, followed by more beer. Met up with Rumy and Sylvere for a while in the afternoon. Later, some of the clan watched Ireland play rugby (result) while a splinter group, checked out the hotel's sauna and pool complex (inc. me). That night took us on a tour of the city's bars and clubs, intermingled with a load of dares that Steve has to do. This livened up the evening.. so did all the sambuka's that were passed round at regular intervals. Another late night / early morning - one that I will NEVER forget. Superb. Splendid.
I enjoyed the assumed roll of cultural attache / tour guide (having lived there for a year), and it all seemed to go well - No complaints anyway. Mark's stag do there sometime next year, should be a larf.
"Get Amongst It !" The adopted phrase of the weekend, was a great companion.. flexible and versatile.
The rest of the week has been steady away - can't remember much of Monday or Tuesday. Went to St. Helens on Wednesday, Cleckhudderfax yesterday, and tried to catch up on office work today. No plans for the weekend. lets see what happens.

Getting quite excited now about my imminent adventure to Amsterdam. A DragonDrop adventure, with T-shirts to prove it. Eirene and the kids have set off in the other direction to Dublin, Ireland. I've only got half a day left in the office now before setting off for Steve's crazy stag weekend and the wonderful, Amsterdam. Les and Bongo have set off this afternoon (co-incidence), and I'm also going to be meeting up with some old friends that we used to hang out with when Eirene and myself used to live there. There are 8 of us stags (Moooo.. Moooo.. or what ever noise stags make)... Vicky is also out there as well as Les and Bongo.. Will the last person leaving Harrogate this weekend, please lock the door and turn off the lights ?

I've just been sent some (long awaited for) stuff on the new VW microbus..
Here's the skinny : "The designers didn't want to run the risk of merely copying the old bus style. The aim was to create another Volkswagen original, which was to pay homage to a great history in its own independent visionary way. The innovative Californian design team has succeeded in doing just this. No decision has been made concerning putting the Microbus into series production."

And some great photo's here at conceptcarz.com
Thanks to scoop for the scoop !

Anyone who has owned a second hand vehicle in the UK has probably has a Haynes manual. These are the books that detail the vehicle down to nuts and bolts level and show you how to fix it (or at least, that's the theory.) We have a copy of the VW Campervan Haynes Manual. (Not using it as much as we should!)
Haynes have just released this unusual title - "Haynes Man" - I'ts cool.

DHAMAKA was magical ! the skill and knowledge of the the performers was incredible. A great night. Tablas are a unique sound at the best of times, but under the hands of a true, seventh generation master (Pandit Sharda Sahai) and his disciple (Bhupider Chaggar), they are beyond words. The first half of the performance, was delivered by 22 superb students. A lot of work has gone into this. I felt privileged to have seen such an amazing performance.

Just got back from my cousin (Lucy's) wedding do which was up in Simonstone, near Hawes, in the Dales. Really nice gathering. Lucy was so happy. Saw loads of people who I haven't seen for years and years - relatives, old neighbors and all sorts. Top night, quite drunk. Had a spectacular drive back from there - we saw one of the finest rainbows we have ever seen - it turned into a double rainbow - with a butiful Dales backdrop. This image does not really do it justice, but here you go.. (more to follow in the next watchcam collection)
