As well as countless parties, nights out, days out, birthdays and larfs. Friendships. Old and New. I love you.

I'm going to upload a new watchcam collection soon (today I hope - time permitting). Here's a guy called Mikey, who's one of the best jugglers I have ever met. He was juggling at an after party party after cabbage. (after party party after !)
Mikey and his glowing balls.

Boxing Day
Had a quiet night in with the boys last night (Simon and Chris). We watched Peter Kay's top of the tower video. Funny northern humor. Telly was naff. We had a few drinks and talked bobbins at each other. Eirene, Neese and Maria went to a house party. Today we are off to my Aunty Nina's for a boxing day get together thing. That should be nice. I've got Dave's 225 bhp pocket rocket car (Audi S3 quattro) whilst he's in Australia. I want to keep it. It's such a tops car.

Christmas Day
A very Happy Christmas to you all !
Ahh ! Christmas - ended up having a great night last night. Lots of Christmas spirit. Today has been cool. Prezzies this morning. Santa was really good to the boys and us. Got a massive new Jumper, and a crazy manga Hawaii shirt that's superb. Got a Peter Kay video that I thought I'd best mention on t'internet. Massive volumes of scrummy scran round at mums. Santa visited there as well. He's a good egg. All that for a glass of port and a few biscuits in return.
So - the boys are just about to go to bed, then I think a backgammon, Christmas drinks and chocolates and Peter Kay video night is in order. I don't think I could do more than waddle at the moment. :o)

Lucky Dave and Snoozy will be on an airplane now. On their way to Australia. 37deg C out there at the moment.

Well- ended up going to nothing last night. Feel rough today. Think I've got that cold that's doing the rounds. Had a visit from Dave, Mark and Vicki. Set a blog up for Dave as him and Snoozy are of to Australia for a few weeks. (epic road trip) If he remembers to blog every now and then, it will be a good one to watch for the next few weeks =- http://cumberworth.blogspot.com

Last night was Dave's leaving do. He's off to Australia for about a month with Snoozy. Took us ages to get out of his flat. Waiting for Mark and Vic to arrive, then Rich, then us.. After his flat, we went to the Lounge, the Revolution bar (I said I would be going there again!) and back to his flat. It's Winter Solstice today, and we have been invited to a party tonight =- Also been invited to see Lord of the Rings 1 at Dave’s, followed by Lord of the Rings 2 at the cinema. Also been invited to Back to Basics in Leeds ! Swayed towards the Summer Solstice plan at the moment, but who knows !

Lazy surfing
Google Labs have come out with this thingy that allows you to sit back, and allow them to do all the clicking. It automatically displays each result form a search string in turn. Its like channel hopping on a TV if you put an interesting thing in for it to cycle round. Sort of. Try it by clicking this.

Jaygo the walker
Over the last few days, Jaygo has transformed himself from someone who crawls to get around, attempting the odd stand and a couple of steps, to a full on walker. "He's off". Full un assisted voyages across whole rooms. Well done that man.

We had our works night out last night. We had a room at our local pub for a bit. I was at a hospitality function from 2 (for our clients) which started at 2:00pm in the afternoon, and I carried on from there. Eirene joined us all at about 6:30pm. By then I was pretty gone. It's that time of year again!. I hereby apologise to my head in advance. There were 3 salient discoveries of last night:
• A new bar - "Revolution" great bar - fantastic design. Very big, but not just a big drinking hall. This place is very cool indeed. I shall be going there again methinks.
• A new drink - Vodka Chambull (Vodka, Champagne & Redbull)
• Learned how to set a party popper off in my mouth.

Enjoyed seeing the photos of the stag outing to Amsterdam. It does look very tame though for a stag weekend. I wonder what pictures Matt would have come back with had the battery not died?? It is the time of year for planning and implementing. I am about to start my christmas card writing. Every year Felix and I make all our cards but this year has ben so mad especially this month that I have surcumbed to buying them in bulk in town. Its a shame you cant buy them already written in bulk in town. I do still however still intend to make all my pressies and I have also written another poem so click on ink pool to read it. Have a chill evening.

24 Hour Pary People
Watched a great film last night. 24 hour Party People. A fascinating documentary style slice of near history with a lot of Manc / Northern humor built in. I'd say that Steve Coogan, playing Tony Wilson brought a lot of his own brand of humor to the set. cameo appearance from Dave Gorman, as John the Postman.
Well researched, interesting depth and insight. A story of Joy Division, New Order, A Certain Ratio, The Happy Mondays, Manchester, The birth of raving indoors and applauding the DJ. Factory Records. R.I.P. Ian Curtis. 1959-1980.

Just had a friend round for dinner. He had an 8' (2.43m) lizard strapped to the top of his car. Seeing a lizard driving down the street, as he left looked quite surreal. He was giving it a lift home, from being part of an installation in one of our favorite bars in town - BRB.
"It's a grim night again"
"Yea.. Not nice.."
"It's keeping the lizard wet though."
"Eh?"

It is our last day in Amsterdam then back to travel then home. It is so much easier flying from an airport close by then like before when we have flown from as far away as Luton. Today it is a lot warmer so only had to wear five layers. Rumy came to the hotel to meet us. It is so nice to see her and her bump. Actually got to go on a tram today something I used to do everyday. Everyone jammed together swaying as it winds through the narrow streets. Good opportunity to people watch and see what's new and what's still there. Rumy's new house is very close to where we used to live. It has a garden and a budding nursery for the new bebe. Very nice very comfy. We are sat now having a picnic and enjoying our last half and hour here with Rumy before going to the airport to catch our plane (I hope)

Hello. I am typing this sat in Conscious dreams. My seat overlooks the river sparkling with Amsterdam lights. Bliss. We are having a fantastic time chillin and shopping and getting away from the normality oh Harrogate. Spent today bimbling around .It is so cold that the canals have frozen over and we are wearing so much clothes that if we fell over we would be unable to get back up. Going to catch up with Rumy and old colleague with 5 weeks left on her pregnancy (see link on dragon drop). Should be great catching up on old times and finding out new. Missing all at dragon drop. Keep my seat warm I will be back tomorrow\

I'm back at home now after a 450 mile day. (725km). If I'd set off this morning, and pointed my car towards a Dover, I could have been in Dijon, France by now. Nearly Switzerland! I've travelled further today than Eirene, and she's in Amsterdam. This blog is powered by Red Bull.

Well - What a full on few days. Shed loads of Driving. Currently, I'm at my mate Andy's house in Cambridge. Popped in for a cuppa on the way back up norf, from da south. Stayed in Birmingham last night. that was nice, then up and out for half 7 this morning after an odd breakfast of croissants, stuffed with full english breakfast. then, M6, M1 M25,M11 into Walthamstow. then M11, M25 clockwise, to J6, Oxted. Then back home. decided to stick with the M11 theme, and left the M25 and headed up towards Cambridge. And here I am. Still got to drive back to Harrogate at some point tonight. Yoiks.
Just spoken to Eirene, who's in Amsterdam at the moment. Noice.Would love to be there now.

Yep. I've had a pretty full on day today. I awoke at wrong O'clock (04:13) and stared at my eyelids for an hour or so, before thinking - I'm wide awake, buzzing with thoughts - smile, it's a new day.. make the most of it. So I did - I was in work before 06:00 and I got a massive amount done today. Finished a big proposal, get most of the way through a presentation and cleared a load of project problems out of the way. Also started thinking about lecture I've been invited to do on "the Internet Business / what's it like working on the internet?" - where do I start with that one ??!! - "Here - have a look through dragondrop.org and you'll get my perspective." Well - my mainly off line perspective and non work related stuff.
I've been in a tip top mood all day. Partially because the day was so big, and I had loads of it. I'm glad it was a long day when I was in a top mood, rather than a ratty one. I quite like the getting into the office really early thing - usually the first one there (others start coming in from 07:30 onwards) I would quite like to get into the habit - it's good for me I think. We will see how the id and superego battle it out !
Well as of 'what's up' I've got a busy few days. Back to Birmingham tomorrow. London and Oxted on Thursday, back into the gate for Thursday night. Eirene and Tina 'll be in Amsterdam by that time.
It's good to see Eirene get back amongst the blogs. Honestly, you don't see one for weeks, then 3 come along at once.

Having a lovely day.Had to help out at playgroup yesterday and then toddler group again today. I dont know how the staff at playgroup manage 25 kids 5 days a week and then their own at home It is alot easier helping at toddler group as the parents stay and you just have to keep an eye on the activities and chat and tidy up at the end and if you are me read the story( harder then it sounds being heard over excited toddlers and babies waiting for their juice and biscuit.) Felix then went to his friend Eli's house to as they say play and play and for me to exchange gossip with Clare. Then home to get the kids fed washed and in bed before with Tinana babysitting Matt and I are off to Fraser's for a meal. Also starting the countdown to amsterdam on thursday, cant wait.

Life is a very odd thing. You never know what it is going to throw at you. You can be poddling along thinking everything is calm and that this is how it is going to stay but as soon as you start to get complacent it throws something at you. Unexpected, unknown, unimagined. There to shake you up change you spin you round and at the end come out better and more complete then you were. Healing old wounds addressing past scars. A hard lesson to take (what lesson isn't). It happens all over the place at work, at home, with friends with partners. Although at the time it may not seem so I believe everything happens for a reason and if you are a good person then only good can come out of it, eventually............

We went to Mark and Vickies last night. Had a lovely time sitting around chatting before realising that if we were going to the pub it had to be now. I have never seen women get ready so fast ( mental post it for blokes I think). Arrived just before last orders with six pints of landlord standing on the bar before we had to ask (they know us or really mark and vicky too well). Wobbled home after many a pint to an open fire and jamming on the guitars and drums. Feeling a bit fragile today and early night is in order I think Maybe a bath??

Went on a works Xmas night out last night, at the Majestic hotel. Penguin
outfits and all that jazz. Actually, it was mainly all that Slade. The food
was fantastic.Salmon thingy for starter, very nice beef fillet followed by
a chocolate tart. Lots to drink. Bit of dancing. Good company. Enjoyed lots
by all.
It was indeed, a classic hotel Christmas party. It's still strange to me
being at one of those after working a Christmas season in a hotel one year
(or was it 2? might well have been) on beverages. Having to deal with
massive volumes of drunk punters, and worse, people who get drunk but one a
year, then clean up after them. There were some very good times amongst
those days though.
I am in Humbrum at the moment, remote blogging (current time 09:02 GMT..
mailto blog has been messing the times up on the last few tries), because I
slept here last night.. because I *ahem* lost my door key last night
(oops.. try to track down today)

DragonDrop vs osymyso results (win!)
DragonDrop vs Wigg result (win)

Back home now after an interesting adventure in Birmingham. The city is hard work to navigate at the moment. They seem to be ripping most of the city center to bits and starting again. Loads of building work going on - loads of diversions and closed roads. My meeting was supposed to be (or so I thought) at 11:00 am. It was put back to 2:00 pm. I managed to entertain myself in the in-between part. Drive out was quite hard. Managed to loose track of where I was for a bit. Got home round about now ish. A good day though.
Came home to find Eirene, up a ladder, painting the hall. The house if full of the smell of fresh paint. I like that smell. Time to retire soon me thinks. Busy day (again) tomorrow!

Went to a nice little place called Pocklington today. Sleepy little market town. It's even got a 'scenic drive'. I've been flat out today, and have not got half the stuff done that I wanted to, but still - got quite a lot done.
Feeling a bit happier with myself today - just black clouds over my head for Saturday and Sunday. Sorry everyone. It's just my time of the month or something
I'm off to Birmingham tomorrow. See how the traffic treats me. Its never kind to me round that neck of the woods. I often get lost in the vipers nest of motorways.
Here is a photo of spaghetti junction.
Wish me luck dealing with this monster!
I'm looking forward to the challenge really!

Well... the pattern of life is, at the moment, "work.. work.. work"
Had a great time at Neese's surprise birthday party at the R bar on Wednesday. DJ skillage by Steve Layton and Scary - splendid as usual. Used the in house system instead of bringing a proper one in worked out OK. (The bass was a bit muffly and distorted). Speakers outside were a bonus. There were not that many people there (Everyone seems to be subscribing to the 'do not party on a school night' ethic at the moment in the run up the the Christmas party season) But the people that did turn up were all lovely and had a top time. I ended up coming home after, and a load of people went to po-naa's, then back here till wrong O'Clock in the morning. (I managed to sleep through most of it!) Thanks to Simon for babysitting :-)
Went to London on Friday, Had a successful day, busy, busy.. On the evening, I decided to stay in (Hotel) and get on with some work. Much to the surprise of Simon and Chris etc. who were trying to get me to go out for beers with them round London - It was quite hard turning down the offer, but I had lots to catch up on. Sounds quite dull, but I'm glad I did I stayed in.
Traveled back from London on Saturday - quickest ever Kings Cross to York time I think - 1 hour 56 mins ! - Nice quite train, (better than comutersville Friday night hell anyway)
How dull is my life at the moment ?
Even turned down going to cabbage last night - didn't feel up to it ! What kind of lame excuse is that ? ! Today, a load of people I know are off to Big Chill, (Cargo, Shoreditch, E1 London. ) I could have gone. So could Eirene. We are maybe getting old or something.
So - very heavy rain this morning, meant that no plans involved the great out doors. Now, it's sunny and Al and April are coming round - may go and get some air / countryside / blow the cobwebs away somehow. Need a bit of that - not feeling my usual happy self today.
