Well - another very hectic few days. Completed a 550+ mile road trip yesterday. Harrogate, Dudley, Smethwich, East Birmingham, Marlow and back to Harrgate over 2 days. Met Dave for a coffee in Woodall services. Managed to watch sundown over the hills from the smoking section of the restaurant. Got me to thinking that for once, smokers had privileged location - right in the window with the sun streaming in, in virtual tranquility. All the rest of those non smoking types had to make do with the darkened flouro lit hectic portion of the restaurant. Since the demise of being able to smoke on the top deck of a double decker, us smokers have been pushed into the smelly back rooms. But - if you are a smoker, I can recommend Woodall north services on the M1. Today I have been to the beautiful Bowcliff hall in Bramham. What a nice place to work that must be. On top of that, I've had 3 proposals to write and my usual day-to-day stress. Another day, another dollar.

Cool - just got NTL broadband reworking at home. It fell to bits some time ago. Now, we can make use of t'internet at home again. Had a cool weekend so far. Had a full on Grand Tourismo night in with Chris on Friday (sad boys are us) Yesterday we went for a family photo shoot, (pics to follow soon - very nice) and last night, we had a quiet night in again. Today has been pretty lazy as well. Lazy weekend all round. Still - given me time to sort the old PC out! right =- time to put the little people to bed now.

I feels like I have been typing all day. I think I have in fact. Proposals and emails, briefs and project related documents, on top of mini chats via msn. I remember this little application that came our for the mouse (as in computer peripheral, not the small rodent.. what would they want with little applications.. apart from cheesefinder.exe perhaps... anyway - I digress) that clocked up all of the movement you did with your mouse. I worked out that I do about 3 miles a year. I wonder how many characters I type a year. It would be quite hard to work out because;
a) a lot of the stuff I do involves copy/paste and so I could not just word count all the docs and emails created in a day
b) I type some, delete some - I'm often going back swathing through and re-hashing.
c) a lot of the stuff I type is volatile.. not recorded.
If anyone knows of a keystroke recorder I like to hear about it. Well - not that much - it's just the thought of the moment, and I'm sure I'll get over it.
So - Tuesday was the last bloggage. Went to Birmingham yesterday. Beautiful sunny day. There and back in a day, and achieved a lot. Well done me. Have a lollipop. Today, I have been office bound... Typing quite a lot.

Well. A load of nice times have occurred. Last week I found myself flying round getting lost near spaghetti junction in Birmingham.The highlight of the last week or so has been Eirene's birthday and Valentines day. Vaentines we spent in a lovely brassery, where we ate loads, then drank a fair bit. On Eirene's birthday, we went for a meal at Bed restaurant. A very nice place. They laid on a room for us with a big table for 20 of us. It felt like a meeting before the food arrived. Then the wine started flowing and the food arrived. Very nice. Due to babysitter problems, I went back home to take over from mum after the meal. (thanks mum) everyone came back after. It was cool - there was a house full of people. Simon was also celebrating his birthday - his 30th ! He and Caroline came up from that London. It was great to catch up with Simon - it was like old times.
So - this week - I've just been into Leeds, and tomorrow I'm off back to Birmingham.
We have just had our NTL stuff sorted out at home. We now have (hopefully) broadband again, so Eirene will be able to stick more wordage on the site. We also have cable in our room, so we will be able to watch 200 channels of nonsense from the comfort of our own bed.

Other news is that Eirene has had a fantastic new hair do! it's gone back to black, with chunks of red and chunks of blue in it. It looks ace.

And...

Again, it's been a crazy week - last week that is. It's Monday all over again. So - I did loads of traveling about with work last week. Amongst the West Midlands.Had a nice weekend. Very lazy, apart from one rapid burst of energy when I borrowed the company van, so that myself and Felix could clear the back yard. He was a great help. Anything that he could carry, made it to the back of the van, and eventually, on to the town tip. He was quite interested with all the big bin lorry trucks as he sat on the roof of the van (safest place for him in a tip I thought to myself!)
Watched Apocalypse Now (again) - I watched the 'redux edition' - this has got loads of extra footage in it. Very good indeed. Made it about a day or so longer. So - I'm still very flat out. It's an up hill battle at work at the moment.. but as my dad used to say "If the wheels are turning, you know you're earning."
