We have just got home from one of the best holidays of our life! The following is a blog (in italic) that I wrote on the road that did not publish for multiple frustrating reasons* Shortly after writing this, sitting in that internet cafe, growling at the computer, I saw a camel ride past, and thought... hang on.. I should be out there !

Watchcam followers - I got a full 100 wristcam shots of our adventure and will appear in the watchcam section of this site. These including loads of under water scuba photo's - to follow. !

I finally found an Internet cafe in icmiller! What a fantastic time we have all had so far. A quick run down-
We arrived mid afternoon and got the bus to our resort - at this time we still had not found out where we were staying. We were allocated a superb place - called the babadan apartments. A great place. 2 pools close to the centre of this pretty little town. On the first full day we chilled by the pool and on the second day we had a stroll down to the beach. Not really our kind of beach - regimented rows of plastic sun loungers. we sneaked onto a quiet corner and played in the sand and sea for a bit. That night we went to a so-so restaurant to celebrate our wedding anniversary. The food was a let down, but the Champaign was nice. Sunday and Monday were without shadow of doubt the highlights so far. We went scuba d?v?ng. This ?s something that Eirene and I had always wanted to do. A great company called the European D?v?ng Centre were our underwater guides. I went diving on Sunday, and Eirene looked after the kids on the boat and I was taught the basics of diving. We had 2 x 40 minute dives in the clear waters about 45 mins boat ride around the coast. This opened our eyes to a whole new world and the surreal enjoyment of being under water and breathing felt amazing. The fish were so bright and colourful. Loads of parrot fish and I had the honour of seeing a octopus. The crew and pro divers were cool as, and really looked after us. The boat had a great mix of people from all over the world, and Felix and Jaygo were loved by everyone on the boat. Last night I met up with one of the pro divers (Buz) for a few beers. this turned into a few beers and tequilas and we finally called it a night around 03.30 . Felt ver rough this morning, but a nice swim soon sorted us out. Today we have been on a tour of the local area in a road tra?n. There are some amaz?ng pads just of the beaten track here.

So that brings us up to now. It ?s nice and cool ?n here, but I do not want to get used to air-con. it touched 40 deg C the other day and is probably not far off that now.

Trying to check my mail but it is a bit of a bad connection. if you have emailed me it will have to hang fire till we get back. Right, Im going to grab some snacks and go back to meet up with Eirene and the wee men. Love to all, see you at the weekend!

aRRGH. I have now been ?n this ?Internet cafe for over an hour (Eirene is going to kill me!) connectivity probs. Whilst I am here - an observat?on to share.. there are no (c) laws ?n Turkey. You make ?t they fake it. designer clothes - you could not tell the real ones apart most of the time. Oakley shades for a fiver, prada jackets for a tenner (pounds that ?s - or about 23,000,000 TL) I even think this Marlboro that I am smoking is a fake.

*Frustrating publishing problems - as well as a poor internet connection, blogger pro is being upgraded, or it may have something to do with the turkish character keyboard (the i sometimes came out as a ? question mark..)

Just cleared off my watch so that it's got a 'full roll of film' ready for our holiday. I can't believe we set off in a few hours. I'm still up. I should get some sleep... mind you - plenty time for that on the beach !

We are off to Turkey in the morning !
This time yesterday, I had no idea that a) I would be getting up today at 05:15 to go to Manchester airport to give Simon and Emma a lift and b) that this time tomorrow we would be in Turkey ! Midlands airport flight at 08:00 tomorrow.
Nice last minute deal snatched up by Eirene. Cool. Need a holiday.

Just going through a load of old floppy disks (ekk!) and I came across this that I created about 10 years ago after a Bug Jam Fest at SantaPod Raceway. The red Fiesta was mine, and was about the only non VW there (we only used it to carrly a load of BMX's down with). Good fun roof surfing wig wearing action. Happy Days.!

An impromptu kiting session has just been had. Nice sun, slack line wind. No sooner had we packed the kites away... the wind got up. Also - put my name down for an airport run to Manchester airport - setting off from home at 05:40 hours. The first leg of Simon and Emma's journey to Cuba. Simon has stuck a rather amusing sign up on his site today..

Blimey - BBC picked up on our water problem from yesterday. When the water eventually did come back on, it was brown and stank. It seems to be OK today, but we have not risked it straight from the tap. It must be nearly 100 years since Harrogate was on the map because of it's water !

Today, I've been researching stuff and have been to a meeting. Interesting stuff ahoy.

All the water is off ! All of our postcode - All of the town centre of Harrogate and surrounding area has had no running water since about 18:00. Wigg has also reported on this... Apparently, all of the pubs have shut and Macdonalds are only doing milkshakes. We have stocked up a bit but I hope they get it sorted before too long.
So on top of that annoyance I've got toothache and my phone is playing up. Still - could be worse ! life is nice at the moment, and I've just uploaded the last 20 days worth of watchcam shots.. A couple of anims in there - they amuse me - I think I'll have another go at that soon! .. And tobacco fun fans... it's back.

We eventually got out of the house, and had a great evening. My head a bit sore this morning. We went to Witherspoons. I have to say that it's my least favorite pub in town. Before I go on - the company was fantastic - just the venue I dislike.. Sure the beer is a bit cheaper, BUT in sacrifice of to much. The place was heaving, and is probably Harrogate's biggest pub, but the lack of music, the way under populated other side of the bar, meaning that it takes about 4 years to get served, coupled with the fact that it was cold in there last night made me glad to get out of the place! After the pub was a bit of a blur... but I do remember one moment that I'd like to document..

I was chatting to Mr Wigg who is in fine spirit. It's great to see someone that happy. They are off to Cuba to get married in about 10 days in Cuba. He has just broken up from work. I remember saying along the lines of "There will be a moment, when the sun is low in the sky and the day is quiet and all is well. You and Emma will be silent, smiling. Look at the scene around you and her, and bottle that moment." Wishing Simon and Emma a happy and everlasting life for each other.

Wow - my new desk is ace - I'm now pointing out of the window so I can watch the world going by. The people who we bought DragonDrop from have just walked past. I've got my boys snuggled up in the floor in blankets and they look cosy. So it's a nice day out there, and the hammock is a nice place to be.

Tip top few days behind me there. Been the busiest officially / unofficially employed person on the planet. Good stuff. Feeling very positive about things. This sun is shining and it's beer O'clock. Emma (as in soon to be wife of Wigg) has just finished her exams and that calls for a few light ales in the humble opinions of everyone who knows her including us. In our usual style of fashionable lateness we are still messing about and I have even decided to do a blog. All factors, such as the afore mentioned have little function apart from slowing our path on the route to the beer purveyors.

Hello, this is my first time sitting in Matt new office. Since yesterday a desk and enormous shelving unit have invaded the quiet of the front room. It all looks very professional and Matt looks very happy. We had a fantastic weekend partying and chilling in equal measures and taking advantage of the great weather. The Kids love having dada around every night at bed time and I couldn't wish any child better then having both da mama and the dada around all the time. I also have a new phone. After lots of tooing and froing with relevant and irreverent documents I eventually managed to get into my hand and out of the shop a Nokia 7650. It takes photos so I sat up most of the night taking photos of my bedroom walls ceiling at different angles and loving it. Felix also loves taking photos with it and Jaygo is always willing to give us a big cheesy grin. Watching the footie now and drinking beer what more do you need.
Ciao ;)

SO - it's been nearly a week since I last stuck anything on DragonDrop.
What a week ! I have left the company I consulted for full time and have decided to venture out on my own. I'll be doing consultancy / Internet thinking / Project delivery.

I've got a few ideas, and in an ideal world, I would like to find an investor(s) to allow me to get the resources to fulfil these as discreet projects. The investors would get a big pile of cash further down the track, and I would get a cool project to run with. Peachy creamy.

I’m also looking to do small jobs to keep things ticking over – on/off line marketing, promotional, consultancy and Internet based services. I’m well positioned to do fast, short run stuff, and have a great resource network, should I need to sub contract the larger or more specialised bits of any given project out.

Anyway – I had better crack on. Very warm regards to all my ex collegues. Live long and prosper. Stay in touch!

Today... Installed XP on my work laptop. So far so good.

Thanks to Mr Wigg for this update - Salam Pax - writer of "Where is Raed" - as reported on DragonDrop before and during the war, has just had a very in-depth article / interview by The Guardian.
Read it here
Salam has been invited to write for The Guardian Unlimited on a fortnightly basis - one to watch. From blog to broadsheets.

Today I have been to the west midlands, and back again. I went down with my colleague. I got a new set of shades - on a micro interesting level - that's interesting.
On a large scale interesting level, Europe's first mission to Mars is on its way. The "The Mars Express orbiter" (Nothing to do with National Express... I hope..) shot off from Kazakhstan at 5:45pm GMT. The craft carried with it a track by the band Blur. This is due to be played as soon as the lander (named beagle 2) touches down on Christmas day.

Hello. It is a sad Eirene here after saying goodbye to one of my closest friends Denise. As I’m sure everyone who reads this knows she has gone back to South Africa. She was not a blood sister but certainly my soul sister and I shall miss her lots. But on a a happier note I shall be definitely be checking out her bloggs and I cant wait to start hearing of her adventures. Also it is a fantastic opportunity to take a family adventure out there and explore more of the southern hemisphere. I was having a look at her 'Explore South Africa' book and so far what I have picked up on apart from the spectacular scenery and wildlife is their love of eating meat and drinking so should suit us just fine. The babies have been enjoying the great weather I am so glad that it was good for the weekend. It is such a treat for all the office workers out there actually able to get out in the sunshine instead of having to stare out the window at everyone else enjoying it. Long may it last. Have a great week.
Ciao ;)

Hot weekend ! Its proper Summer. After a large on one Friday night to celebrate Rich's birthday, I spent all of yesterday outside in the sun mostly in the back yard mostly in the hammock.
Eirene spent her last afternoon with Denise whilst me and the boys went up the Frasers shed. This is a cool place where a load of artist and sculptures do their stuff. Felix and Jay made some new friends with the boys who lived at the farm next door.
Last night - decided not to go to cabbage, due to general lack of energy, and had a mellow BBQ instead. That was nice. Today we have been pottering about the house and just now we have been to say bon voyage to Denise and James. They have a blog - here. Keep an eye on the news as the wander about South Africa.
Tonight we have got a double bill of 24 to watch woo hoo !
