Last night we went to my cousins wedding up at Rudding House. What a nice do. There was loads of relatives there that I haven't seen since his sisters wedding last year. There was a band on called Solid Steel who did some good covers and really got the place dancing. I've just been up to get humbrum who we left there last night. Wishing Adam and Beth a happy life together. They are a beautiful couple.

Today we are going up to Darlington to stay at their house, followed by a party at Aunty Sue's house tomorrow. Then a massive Sunday Sesson gig tomorrow night, and we are supposed to be paintball on Monday. blimey!

Well - I've got my name on the front page of the Harrogate Herald this week! - An advert for our regular Sunday night bash The Sunday Sessions, details a bank holiday "midnight extravaganzza!" featuring (amongst others) Matt da Conga. This will be a fantastic night by the way - loads of music, 2 rooms, 2am licence and some SURPRISES up our sleeves that you do not want to miss.

Suposed to be going paintballing on the monday morning following that. That should clear the cobwebs away.

It seems that most of the eastern seaboard of the states is without power.. "Power blackouts were reported in the New York metropolitan area and Detroit, as well as in Toronto and Ottawa, authorities said.....whole of central New York and the city's three airports are without power"

orange is bad, red is really bad...

I got quite side tracked when I stumbled across this site. Very good use of flash : Destination: MARS

So - it's been a warm few days, and I have had a couple of late nights. We stayed up to see the shooting stars on Tuesday, but only saw 2. Still - I'm 2 wished better off. Mars is still impressive - it's easily visible - a bright reddish large 'star' close to where the moon has been around midnight. Last night, I went out to meet someone who works for a charity called JST that takes disabled people on massive sea adventures in specially modified tall ships. He sets sail to Lisbon this Sunday from the Southampton "taking you through the famous Bay of Biscay towards the warmer waters of the beautiful Spanish Coastline.". He's planning a fundraising party (and asked if I wanted to play). I like the idea of this charity - it's giving people who perhaps don't get that much opportunity for real adventure, a once in a life time experience. Superb. A big up from DragonDrop. The website has this amazing thingy on it - if - have a look at the ocean tracker page within the voyage updates section.. zoom in and zoom in and in..... and in...

The highlight of the weekend was Vicki's birthday garden party - BBQ, dogs, wine and kids. Sitting around the camp fire, got onto someone reminding us that we are really close to mars at the moment (BBC says "Mars is at its closest to Earth in 60,000 years" - we were all looking at Mars - bright red dot in the sky. Just then somone shouted "look at that shooting star!!" - one of the best shooting starts I've ever seen - lasted about 6 seconds. A truly out of this world few moments. It was good to be out in Humbrum again. The kids slept in their own tent beside the van. Cut down on that horrible smell they create in the mornings.

Well - what a bookmark of a weekend. Since my last blog, so many lovely things have happened. A really nice gig at the stalls bar on Saturday night lead to a small after party round at Alex and Rachel's house. Sunday - we all piled in Humbrum (who is now back from the garage and running a lot better) and went to visit some friends up in't Dales (Paul (aka Dharma), Nicky and Jordan). First we had cups of tea, then a wander round the farm to see the new calfs - a one day old was looking a bit confused, so I let him suck my thumb for a bit. A superb walk across the a couple of hills lead us to Paul's favorite spot - a little outcrop of rock under some trees looking out towards Brimham Rocks which happens to be one of my favorite spots in the whole world. We hung out there for a bit (I'm getting towards the bookmark part of the story now) before heading back to Pauls house. We had brought Felix's bike along in the van - it was his special day to learn how to ride a bike! - His face was amazing - a massive smile and a very appreciative audience. So - that was the first bookmark of the day.. #2 was half way through our Sunday Sessions gig when Al's better half Jules, phoned up to announce that she was in Labour! The rest of the crew came back here after the gig to celebrate - I checked my text this morning to find the good news.

A big congratulations to Al and Jules - and a big DragonDrop welcome to Eve. x

A big congratulations to my boy Felix for learning how to ride a bike love Mama and Dada and Jaygo. x

Last night was cool - went out with Eirene, Fionn & Les.
I'm sat round at Bongo's house. He has just helped me set up for a gig I'm doing with Dharma tonight at the Stall bar. We are off for a sunset beer any moment before another night of fun and drums.
