I am sat in an internet café in the Goa, India. The café is in a small village on a beach called Anjuna.
So – we left Mumbai (Bombay) and got into Goa around mid-day. We had spent the recent few hours deciding where to head to. We had been recommended a place called Anjuna, and had read about it. We got a taxi. This was a full power culture shock. Shock in a good way. The people, their dress – The roads and it’s way of allowing all the traffic to function without laws. I later discovered there is a law – and it is that Elephants are in charge – everything should move for them. Then cows next followed by trucks, vans, cars rick shaws, then motorbikes the mopeds then cycles then people. The motorcycles and mopeds make up the vast majority of traffic. Everything beeps. Beeping is encouraged. It seems to be the ‘safety feature’. I digress..
We got to our place and have settled right in. We found our room – It’s a very nice pad. It’s got a huge main room, bathroom, veranda kitchen area and a sitting room. We have set up a hammock over looking the sea in the sitting room. Once we had settled in, we heard Orbital being played at the café over the road (/dirt track) – good omen! We went there and had some beer and some curry and then went for a stroll. As we walked down the beach we fell in love with the place. We got to see one of the most amazing sunsets that night that we have ever seen (photo’s to follow) That night, we went out and met loads of really nice people – 2 lovely American girls (Elisa and Tory) and we went with them to a bar up the village. We met a really nice crowd of locals who set up Parties in ‘the season’. They helped us celebrate my birthday in a big way!
Yesterday, we hired a motorbike and headed up to Another beach about 15km north of hear. We had the most amazing meal – tandoori pomfrit fish and tiger prawns. I got some lovely photos from the place. (to follow). Riding the bike was fun – we were going not much faster than about 30mph and it was really handy knowing about the law of the road – move if it’s bigger!
Last night we went out to the bar again and the main talk was of a big party that is happening tonight – at a place called “Dragon House” – how cool is that – DragonDrop adventures in Dragon House.. DragonDrop @ DragonHouse.
After that, we came back to the pad and it started raining – instantly it was a downpour of hot rain. This carried on until about lunch today. We have been mostly sitting on the veranda and I’ve spent all morning looking out over the sea and reading. ‘The Alchemist’ is the book title – (Someone tell Vicki ! – It’s her favorite book). I’ve ploughed through – just on the last few pages. What a book – it’s perfect for reading now. It tells a story of travel, and omens, the soul of the world and reading it.
There is so much more that I could say – but I want to get out there and experience it again!

It's my birthday, and I'm in India.
I have had teh biggest surprise of my life pulled on me. On Monday, I set off to Gulford, to do a photoshoot as part of a job I'm doing. All pretty run of the mill stuff - had a good constructive day, went out for a meal at night and got an early night. My friend Dave was in said town and teh plan for the following day was fairly bland - we were to picks a friend of his up from Heathrow who was returning from France. Stood about, at Heathrow, slightly borded, and slightly frustrated, as I get in Airports when I'm not going anywhare. Who should I spot ? Eirene. "What are you doing here?" were the onl;y words I could manage, so I repeated them. No answer. Just smiles. I was shaking. Dave handed me a bag. "Happy birthday Dude!" said he. I opened the bag and my birthday gift - a guide book to Goa, India. This is where I nearly passed out.
Eirene has fulfilled a dream that I had had for as long as I can remember - That I wanted to go to India before I was 30. I am still in a state of happy shock. The amount of effort - getting people to sit the kids for a week is a feat in itself (Thanks to everyone who's chipping in their time!).
So it's now 10:16 ish local time and I am are sat in the business centre, in the first class lounge in Bombay airport, waiting for a connection to Goa. (Eirene is relaxing in the 5 star surroundings and a nice man keeps bringing us tea. Eirene managed to gety free blags for the lounge! Just had a really restfull sleep and am rairing to go !

Well -= A busy week. The AV tech job was cool. I also got a new camera. A Nikon 5700 - it's cool. I dare say I'll be shooting a fair few DragonDrop adventures with it. It's like, DragonDrop - Watcham - super low res, then a naff webcam, then a phone cam - VGA, then a 5.1 Mega Pix beast.
I have also been introduced to an amazing new game, by a friend who came round the other night (Chris from Smilie) - a 3D world of endless possibilities - Second Life. You get to make a character, and fly around this world. You can build stuff, design stuff, talk to other characters, trade, play games - even design your own clothes. Here is me in a DragonDrop T-Shirt :
Simon is visiting from that there London. (and I think I've got him hooked on Second Life as well) He has got me a superb birthday prezzie -= an eye toy. If you have not seen one of these - it's worth checking out (if you have got access to a Playstation 2). It's a motion detection webcam, that lets you play games on your TV with you as the character. It's quite a work out !
Right - back into a bit of second life !

A busy but rather splendid few days. I'm quite wiped now. Let me explain why...
Friday night, Roger (pictured below) and I went to an event in Bradford that he had blags (free tickets) for called Kula. A top night of interesting music bathed in UV lights. Met a load of cool people and had a great time. Meanwhile, Eirene and the kids, plus Lisa, Dean, Josh, jack, Sean.. and a load of other assorted hippies went camping out near Grassington. Our plan was to catch up with them the next day. Which we did, after a visit to observatory crest opposite Leeds Bradford airport. Saw a few taking off, and spoke to a guy with a scanner for a while - we got to listen to pilots and stuff.
we eventually got to base camp #1, after a breakdown and a change of car, (stroke of luck had it that we broke down right next to a pub car park. )
Got up to the camp, to witness a really impressive sundown and moon up. I got right into the appreciation of the slow rotation of the earth - that you can only get from being outside for a while. The next day was tip top and Fraser and I (Mostly Fraser I have to confess) spent most of the morning hunting crayfish from the river Wharfe. We must have found between 100 and 200. We cooked these up to provide delicious feeding frenzy for the (non vegetarian) members of the away party.
I had a night off from Sunday Sessions last night - because I had to be up at wrong o’clock this morning for a 3 day job (as an AV technician).
So - just had some tea, done some work and now... I'm wiped!

DragonDrop Adventure - Samothraki
I've had a flat out few days. Been to Barnsley this morning and been busy working. Just had Roger round and it sounds like he had the time of his life. An amazing sounding festival on the idyllic looking Greek island. Tonight, I'm supposed to be going to a club night in Bradford called Zorba. Eirene and the kids are going camping up in the Dales with a bunch of people and I'll be catching them up sometime tomorrow. Lets hope the weather holds out - it's like a summers day out there today in Harrogate.
Anyhoo - loads to do..

Felix's first day at school today. He seemed to like it a lot. It was almost a tear jerker, seeing him file into the school, amidst the perplexed order of his little classmates. It's a monumental day for him. It's one of those days - some of the memories from today, may be with us for the rest of our lives.

Well- it's been ages since my last blog. What a crazy few days it's been. Andy - a mate from Cambridge turned up - I knew about it but left it as a surprise for Eirene. That was Thursday (I think). Since then, it's been pretty much non stop. Thursday we went out to see some friends perform in their new band. They were cool - can't remember the name of the band at the moment, but I'll try and update this blog when I get it. Smooth Jazz, full of life funk. 2 brass, one acoustic guitar, one Hammond organ, bass, drums, bit of waxing lyrics, and lead guitar. I think they will go far.
Friday - Blimey. Went out to a pub for early doors then came home and had a mini party type thing.
Saturday - Myself and DJ Dharma did a fantastic gig at the stalls bar- it was an amazing atmosphere. It was the last gig of the season because the theatre opens up and does it's thespy thing soon. After the gig, we had an after party round here and about 30 people turned up - we had the drums out and all sorts. a great night.
Sunday - met Dave and Mark for a pint and a game of pool mid afternoon and sort of... Carried on from there really. Came back here for a bit - then it was out to do The Sunday Session
Today - Jaygo started nursery! He seemed to like it.
SO now - I'm sat around, eating veggy korma and watching Eastenders for the first time in years. Why ?
