CNN.com - Sun erupts in biggest storm in years
Thanks to Who? for that one.
Snips from the story :
"arrives midday Wednesday" - [That's CNN time, so about 1900 our time]
"solar winds produced by a CME often increase night displays of the northern and southern lights"
Woot - worth looking out for - Harrogate has had Northern lights before...

It's been a very busy couple of days. I've been to Royston (not vasey) on a workshop thing, also working as a lampy (light engineer) a children's entertainer and more besides.
Felix's birthday went well.. He's had a great few days. 5 of your earth years.
Got all he wanted - a buzz Lightyear and a miners headlamp. Today we have had a party for about 10 to 15 kids and about 5 - 10 adult kids. Fancy dress costumes included a Superman, a Jango Fett, an Incredible Hulk an MIB (me), a punk, a monk, a nun a karate kid and a big purple thing. A dragon - make that 2, and a pair of princesses.

What a superb night last night was. It was Cols birthday and there was much fun to be had. We got into town and had a couple. Eirene and/or "The Whirly Girls" had been commissioned to do a bit of fire poi
at the opening of a new club night in town called "Shush!":
The party was pretty rammed - and had a very 'London' feel to it. Fire silks, and a red carpet topped off the 'exclusive' atmosphere.
Earlier on in the evening, Sarah introduced us to Ian, who happened to have his fire stuff with him so he was conscripted as one of the fire acts. He treat us and the (by this point) large onlooking crowd to a bit of firebreathing :
After that, we all piled down to Scary and Fi's house for a party to celebrate Cols birthday. Loads of lovely people there. I felt very privileged to be part of such a fantastic group of friends last night. By the end of the night, Col and Sarah had fallen asleep. Here we see Col, using Sarah's dreads for a bit of shade.

A couple of months ago I had a phonecall from a mate of mine who lives in Knaresborough (Incidentally, Rough Knob Arse is an anagram of Knaresborough). He told me that he had seen my name, scrawled on a pavement. He took a photo of it, developed the film, scanned it and emailed it to me: (how old school.. who needs steps 2 and 3 - get digital!)..
Is there a Matt Watson in Knaresborough, or has Matt Watson (other) or Matt Watson (I) got a weird stalker cult thing going on?

I was sorting out a load of paperwork and came across this photo tucked inside. It's of Ickle, on a DragonDrop Adventure Shirt wearing trip to Thailand.

We went to Swinsty Reservoir today and fed the ducks and geese. We had a drive round Fewston and Thruscross Reservoirs as well . These are a network of Reservoirs started in 1870 that have now blended in with the countryside and look like lakes. These Reservoir feed Eccup treatment plant, then Leeds with their watery requirements.
Here's a map of where we were.
It was nice up there. After arming ourselves with coffee made in humbrum we took the boys down to the water and picnic area where we met some lovely people and bumped into an old friend. Came back and Eirene cooked a fantastic Chicken Kiev with sweet potato and honey glazed carrots. We got a few photo's today -
click here to visit the gallery (23 shots)
So - now Enterprise is on the telly now and we are all set for a chill night in.

The Bongo Project - Yep - I've seen it all now... a system has been developed - tcp/ip over bongo drums - the drums are being used to transport packets of data. Thanks to Jim for that one.

How strange. I'm in the middle of a congress dedicated to theatre nursing. ( NATN 2003 ) There is also an exhibition with an internet cafe in the middle so I thought I'd take advantage and write a few words. I'm working here - doing AV tech stuff. Exhibitors are coming up with more innovative ways to get you on their stand. The usual - freebee's are ripe here - pens, sweets, cuddly toys, keyrings and all the usual stuff - but - I have seen Captain Jean Luke Picard (Look a like!) and a David Beckham (Look a like) - David Beckham was eerily like the real thing. I spoke to him and, he sounds like him as well - he is his official Body Double.
Got an email from Dave last night - he and Jamie are well on their way, deep in India. Lucky them! I've only been there a week, and back less than that and I already miss it loads. I would so love to be sat in a little cafe, drinking masala tea, watching Indian life pass me by, as we did for hours on end in Goa last week.
