This was the scene at OSLO in the wee hours this morning - a fantastic little club in Leeds that is exactly (ish) like the cantina bar from Starwars (the 1979 film). The night was called 'One Love' and a nice touch (never seen this in a club before) was free strawberries and cream at around 2am.

hello. Had a fantastic night last night. It started of at rehersal for the musical Anything Goes which is running from the 08 June till the 12 June. Everyone was in a top mood and getting their lines and moves right. Then it was straight home and out to see Las Sangras play at Bar Med. I have only seen them play once before at Jamie and Helen's engagement do and they rocked the place. Last night they didn't disappoint. The band is full of charisma and create such a beguiling eccentric yet accesiable sound that it completely draws you in. Then it was off to BRB to catch the end of Matt's conga set playing along with Niel Jaques and Brett Weatherhead. Nice deep house and lots of happy people. Then off in Deano's new 4x4 to Leeds to Oslo bar a first for me. Tom Soya was giving it large. The layout of the place was great. Generously rounded plastered walls gave it an underground cave like feel and around every corner were hidden seating areas giving the whole place a really nice intimate exclusive air. And before I had time to get bored it was back in the car and home to get some sleep and begin the build up to Fire. Hurrah can't wait ;)
Ciao

What a great weekend!
Got our new bath up and running on Thursday.Double Jacuzzi Bling Bath.
Friday night I stayed in and re built my computer.
Saturday, I went to play at FLUID with Dharma. The hot day put a smile on everyone's face and after a quick round in monteys with the DJ's that play the VIP room at Fluid, I headed for Bar Med. It was ace the fact that it was so light until about 10 pm. Got in form that around 4am after popping over to a friends house for a small gathering. Sunday - I was up and at it by 10, and our main mission of the day was to go over to a friend who lives out near Grassington (up in't Dales) A birthday (happy birthday Ben!) merged with a re-union of a group of friends who have been apart for ages - days before some one was in France, one in Australia. Some amazing food including a superb side of local lamb, some fish, that had been caught from the river the night before - some of the best trout I've ever tasted. We all sat round, told out tales, let the kids run wild - what a great afternoon. Just one good mate conspicuous by his absence - Dave. The traveling salesman.
The best thing about the place we were (apart from the top bunch of people we were with) is the view. I've tried to make a panorama - this is about 180deg and does not do it justice...

I've just had a very busy few days (again).
Since last Wednesday, I joined Dalmation Kebab at the blues bar - a superb collection of musicians who played Jazz classics with a modern day twist. There were a few new numbers in there, but things like a buzzed up version of cantaloupe really got the crowd (and I) transfixed in the music. The synergy between all the players (2 x Sax, Trumpet, Guitar, Bass, Drum kit player and percussion) was amazing. Pin point precision breaks and riffs. I REALLY enjoyed that gig. I'll keep DragonDrop posted of future gigs.
Saturday, did a little work, then we went up to a little spot by a stream near West End with a friend and their kids. Here's a little place just down stream from where we were hanging out..
The last time I was there was winter.
After that I drove to Skipton, to do a gig at 'Bliss' with a DJ called Mark Murray. Blimey! They like it fast out there. A mix of R&B then bang into steaming hard house. 120bpm hip hop meets R&B into 160bpm bouncy stuff. Friendly crew, up for it punters. It's quite a strange club - it's huge (about 1460 cap) and yet has no clubs for miles around, so there's not that healthy competition thing that seems to keep the rest of clubland moving.
Sunday, chilled out at a mates BBQ and had a full on meat fest. Had a night off! Yesterday, a full day back on the grindstone after a 'bitty' week last week due to project jacuzzi in the bathroom (ongoing - I hope to be clean again later this week).

There are some very odd places on that there interweb.. Kasha's Bark Mitvah
Still - I wonder what they would make of this site...
Been knee deep in stress today, having a new bathroom fitted, Having loads of work on, stuff, things, kids, dust, noise hecticness. Still. Goat loads done.
Doing a gig at the weekend in a club in Skipton - the one I mentioned here. Looking forward to it, I love playing in new places. Bummer I had to take a week out from Fluid at Bar Med. Still - guesting for me is a top geezer - Ken the Dancing Frog.

The Name Our Van thing is going well - getting some good / funny / strange suggestions.
Blogger (the engine that drives a lot of DragonDrop) has just gone and re-skinned. It's looking good! Well done blogger.
Nice weekend. A lot saner and calmer than last weekend. Did a gig Saturday night(Fluid) then on Sunday we went for a drive in the van with no name up to Clapham, after hearing about this festival they were throwing there to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Yorkshire Dales National Park. It's nice up there! Made me proud to be Yorkshire. We were trying to get to a thing called an illuminarium that they had built atop a hill. Alas we missed it but we caught up with the crew and they told us the web address - www.architects-of-air.com - and told us that they are putting it up next in Manchester on June the 4th. Looks like a really cool project. After that we went on a really nice walk down the valley and through the village.
Took this photo en route.

Last night it was FIRE VI - what a night ! the best fire yet.. I find myself asking "how could i possibly get better" after each of the last few fire parties, and mid gig I think... Ahh - tha'ts how!. Many thanks to all the happy folk who visited our fire.
Here are some pics.
 ::clicky here::
So after Fire, we had a bit of kip then went into break down. Thoughts turned to food, so the remaining crew piled down to the Blues Bar for a slap up fry up. Seconds before food arrived, I had a call from Eirene, a family crisis! Felix had a pea stuck in his ear, so I shot off at great speed to rendez vous and go to the hospital. The doctor got it out OK. Apparently, Felix had kept it a secret, then in ASDA, Eirene noticed he was shouting (more than usual!) and said “Felix, can you hear OK?”… “Not really Mama”…. “why?”… “because I’ve got a pea stuck in my ear”. And the next bits you know about!
