The Nige Harrison album launch party was fun. His new site is live now as well - here.
Last night I went to band practice to polish up for the gig on Friday. Even though the trumpet player wasn't there (2 x sax, guitar, bass drums and percussion in attendance) I can blow our own trumpet a bit and say that we sounded great. We rehearsed at Bar Med - it's the first time that a live band has performed in the VIP lounge there - the acoustics are fantastic. By the end of it we had a small audience enjoying our stuff - a bunch of DJ's (friends and friends of friends from Leeds, Harrogate, Paris and London - what a mix!). Hung out with that lot and talked about music for hours. Where did house music originate - that old chestnut! top night. Friday should be da bomb. Come along - listed as a £3 door charge, but say you are on the DragonDrop guest list and you'll get in for nowt! can't say fairer than that.

T-Minus 1 week on this gig. Should be fun and lots of it. Got some superstar muso's flying up from London village, Jonathan Goodwin on guitar, some sax, some trumping, some drumming and a me on percussion. Acid Jazz and live funk type stuff.

Just got in from Starbeck Swimming Baths. First time I'd been there. It's a really small and friendly swimming pool, perpose built in 1870. There is a campaign on to save the baths at the moment, and DragonDrop officially supports this campaign!
The next plan is to have a massive Sunday dinner with some of our friends. Starving. It's hungry work this swimming.

Just been out to Shipley to visit the Salt Mill museum - famous for it's resident Hockney exhibition. Had a nice potter about and got a new book on logo's and corp ID design. Felix got 'Green Eggs and Ham' by Dr Seuss. The last time we were there was January 2002. I took a few watchcam photo's.
Stopped off in Otley on the way back and had a round of hot chocolates then went round to see me old mucka Mr Wigg. Now, I'm getting the smell of frying mince waft towards me. I'm starving.

FINALLY get back online at home. What a trauma. Fried network card AND set top box. What happened I wonder. Not that bothered due to being back online. It's horrid being offline when you have a dependancy like mine. Makes me think I need internet nearly as much as water. Well - loads to catch up with.

Blimey. That was a long walk in the wilderness. I've been offline since last week. I thought it was something to do with my NTL, but it turned out that I had a fried network card. I'm round at my mums now and I've got a stack of stuff that I need to do.
Last night we said b'bye and Happy Birthday to Ickle, who's off on an adventure to S.E.Asia. Lucky girl. She should be in Heathrow right now. We went round a few bars then had a surprise party planned for her at Bar Med - Trev, her favorite DJ was on the decks and it was a reet good party.
Jaygo's birthday weekend was ace as well. Had loads of nice food, and people round. Well - must do some internetty stuff now.

Sat in the Harrogate International Centre conference type bit in a make shift internet cafe. I've been working here doing sort of sound engineering type stuff for the Royal College of Psychiatrists. Semi interesting, semi dull. There was a protest outside yesterday and I can't really figure out what the point of it was. Protesting about giving drugs to kids for profit. Surely there must be something more worthwhile that they can have a shout about ?
Ahh well. I'm off line at home at the moment, thanks (not) to NTL who have broken my connection again. Anyway, my colleague is trying to shut the cafe so I'm going to post this... Un spell checked as it is!
