Can’t believe it – Bar Med Harrogate has closed. Something to do with a change of hands and a problem with the lease. I’m gutted. I’ve had some ace times there. I’ve loved doing all the design / photography / promo / web for the place over the last 2 years I think it’s totally silly that the administrators have… Read more →

Google maps is cool. Advert free, zoomable global to street level maps. It’s got the good bits from streetmap, multimap (Although the satellite view is loads better on multimap) and theaa route finder and rolled it into a new slick and easy to use site. Online maps – advantage – sophisticated levels of data, disadvantage – you can’t roll it… Read more →

Final Curtain

Sat back stage at the Royal Hall Harrogate. This place shuts down soon for some major (and needed) structural surgery. About £6m has been chucked into the repair coffers. I’m glad that the cash was found. The Royal Hall has got to be one of Harrogates finest assets. This gig (CIH 2005) could be her last major gig for the… Read more →

Brio fire

I’ve just watched Harrogate Brio’s (the town one, not Hornbeam) restaurant burn down. Working at the Harrogate International today (doing tekky stuff), glanced out and the whole area was covered with really thick white smoke. I got outside and I could hear what sounded like a fireworks display – loads of cracking and banging. I followed that and the first… Read more →

Nice.. Just got back into town after driving to Sedbergh and back this evening to drop a load of people off up there. Noticed about 5 miles out of said town that the door wasn’t shut properly (minibus) so I got out. I noticed that I was stood in an absolutely idyllic spot. Next to a bridge going over a… Read more →

A very busy week I’ve had so far. I’ve got to be boring this weekend as I’ve got a 7 day straight job on at the conference center starting tomorrow. Shame, would have liked to have a look at Engage at the Little Wonder (Psy Trance DJ’s). Today I’ve got a Multiple deadline pile-up followed by a drive up to… Read more →

Free Van After clover (our big van) failed her MOT on Friday, I’ve decided to get rid of the congamobile. If anyone is interested, drop me a mail. There are a few bits that need doing – nothing to bad as far as I know, if not she’s off to the scrappers 🙁

Went into Leeds after work on Friday to play at cocoon. Not a bad gig, The first DJ (some guy off the radio I believe) in my humble opinion was not quite right for the venue, The place was a lot quieter after he had played. Some good tunes though, but I’d heard them all to death. Lots of 80’s,… Read more →

Today I’m trying the Thai red curry form the same place as yesterday. It’s even better that their green curry! top nosh. I’ve had a very frustrating morning thanks to BT royally messing up my phone transfer. Lost half a days calls (and potential business) thanks to them. Ahh well. No worries red curries.
