FIRE has got a full page reviewed and I've been interviewed in a new Harrogate 'lifestyle' type mag called plush. It's not bad - makes me look a little nerdy but there we go!

We attempted to have "a quiet one" this weekend. We got given a piano. None of us can play (yet) but I'm going to try and learn a bit. Bumped into a friend who can play (really well) whilst it was in tow in asda car park. Impromptu piano concerto ensued in the car park. Very surreal.

After installing said beast into our dining room, we went round to our friends on Saturday for a BBQ - top nosh..

this turned into a party and by 11 it was about 40 strong,

the decks were spinning choons. Good fun.

Sunday - spent all day outside. Top weather. We were invited round to another friends Birthday bash for full on Sunday roast in the garden, birthday cake and ice cold lager. Bliss.

Today I got some new glasses and I've had 3 meetings, 2 of which have been in a pub, one of which was concerning the next FIRE - got some real crazy stuff lined up for ya! Home again now, just eaten and fancy a night of watching telly and reading.

Steady away week. Having a chill weekend this weekend after the full on one last weekend.

Got this months National Geographic through this morning. Some top stuff as per usual with an amazing adventure story - Krubera Cave - the deepest cave in the world (yet discovered). Last year a team of 56 cavers using 5 tons of gear reached 1840m deep after weeks of being underground only to have their record broken a few weeks later by another crew going 2080m (1.29 miles) down.

Read more on this incredible story on the National Geographic site>>

Full power, 34 hour weekend. Started out doing a bar launch party in Leeds - what was the Cube is now Cocoon and it looked a bit like this inside:

and a bit like this outside where Eirene and Dalefish were doing some fire:

Rested up on Saturday in time to get sorted for playing in Dalmatian Kebab at the Late Lounge. A good gig was had by us all. Everyone was dancing and stuff.

Sunday - the one I was looking forward to the most, the private FIRE party. What a laff this was. Downstairs at Bar Med was completely stripped of it's furniture (bar a couple of tables). It took a while to fill up which seemed to happened with a bang around 10:30 - both downstairs and the chill out areas upstairs were both heaving with a throng of Fire heads! Superb sets from all three DJ's (Johnnie Fredericks, Clöudbass and Mike H) and I really got into playing. Top atmosphere, top crowd of people - thanks to everyone who came and supported - Shame you missed one of the best Fire's ever to those who couldn't make it. It looked a little like this..

One of the surprise visual treats we had were 2 lads turning up with glowsticks in lucozade bottles filled with water. They were ace at flaring (doing the fancy cocktail bottle spinning and throwing stuff) Which looked great with the glowing bottles - here's a snap of one of them:

right so - I'm now going to crack on with some work, more Fire photos later.. Next Fire is 1st May, by the way.

What a weekend (again my Monday morning starts off with that!) Did a gig in Leeds with Brett, Neil and friends - first birthday party of Community! (at Dr Wu's) even a special guest appearance from Tommy Max!. Had a top evening. Community has just got a new residency in Harrogate by the way at Bar Med's VIP Lounge - every Friday.

Saturday - Went to see Scapegoat Kelly at Bar Med. Superb gig - top quality. Perhaps one of the most enjoyable times I've seen them (apart from their first ever gig - un beatable because of the newness of it all). Great sound they got going on now. Polished, slick and powerfully confident. Day got da funk. I hope we (Dalmatian Kebab) get something like that kind of vibe going when we play there next Saturday!

Sunday, fell from bed to bath to deck chair then back to bed again. finished reading

Perfume The Story Of A Murderer.

What a top book. Like nothing else I've ever read. Starts out in mid 18th century Paris. It's a book of high visulaisation - not through the eyes but rather through olfactory senses..
Read the first few pages here>>

Other stuff - someone's noted a comment on this drop (Tribal Gathering) that tickets go on sale in 2 weeks - he/she has also mentioned another really quite cool sounding mini fest up in't Dales.

Back in the land of the busy. Weekend was cool, the last blog was as much an experiment to see if I could blog with entirely borrowed hardware.

Erm.. anyway - been through to Leeds today to look at a bar where I'm playing at a week Friday alongside a Leeds DJ. Relaunch of the cube bar (Top of millennium Square) into it's new name "cocoon". Cracking looking bar, big glass front overlooking the square. Eirene, ickle and Dale are up to some poi, Trumpet and Sax also alongside the DJ... FRIDAY 15h April dare I say it sounds a bit FIREish..

Speaking of FIRE, there's the FIRE Private Party / "DragonDrop networking party!" (ticket only) on Sunday the 17th April if you know it/us or feel you want to know it/us email me for tickets/info fire@dragondrop.org

Just been sent some links from a mate of mine who obviously has too much time on his hands....

Interesting links!

And watched the (21MB) S.F.'s Jennifer Jolly (Fox-KTVU) vid where "she gets pied for her anti-protester propaganda. " I think she got her just desserts. *Ahem*

We're over in Gatley, Manchester staying at me cousins. Superb day yesterday.
Visited The Imperial War Museum North Superb building - offering fascinating displays of tanks, nukes and land mine proof cars, harrier jump jets and stuff. Had one of the most spectacular AV shows I've ever seen:

the entire place was plunged into darkness, all the walls used as the canvas for a 10 min film on why wars began

We went to the top of the sticky up 'fin' out of the roof (on the photo) for some stunning views across the city. We could see Manchester footy ground and all sorts.

After that we went to a park with a pat pat farm and stuff, watched the boys attempt to eat the biggest ice creams I've seen in years followed by a visit to a top class Butchers in Gatley for a load of meat. Came back and BBQ'd it - superb! Wen't for a few scoops in the village before crashing.
