Did a gig at an amazing place on Friday night - Coombe Abbey. Medieval style caste type place, very George and the Dragon. The staff wore period costume and all the fixtures and fittings, carvings and furniture made it feel like you were stepping back in time. Good fun gig - the DJ (Olly) played a Hed Kandi style set.

Got home just in time on Saturday to go swimming with the family at Knaresborough pool. It was empty apart from us.. Nice! Got a free DVD with The Guardian - Bagdad Cafe and watched that on the evenining. A superb character driven film set in the middle of the Mojave desert in the U,S of A.

Yesterday, chill day in front of the fire playing vid games with the boys, watching telly and that. Now I'm in Cheshire, awaiting a brief.

We went to see STOMP "The international percussion experience" last night at the Alhambra in Bradford. That has got to be not only one of the best things I’ve ever seen at the theatre, but one of the best live music things I’ve ever seen. The description I’m about to give it could by now way do it justice.. It’s a bunch of people using household things (brooms, matchboxes, bins water cooler bottles.. even the kitchen sink) in perfect rhythm and harmony. Stunning. The performance was about an hour and a half and had the packed house riveted and baying for more at the end. 5 star recommendation, two thumbs fresh.

Today It’s been muydah on the roads. Left my wallet at home so had to back track to Harrogate after setting off for Cheshire today – by the time I got back on track, early Leeds rush hour had kicked in, then the M62 was a car park.

These guys rock - the did this thing called "The Mp3 Experiment 2.0" (yes there was a 1.0) - the gist - they instructed readers of their blog to download an mp3, go to a designated location and wait for the command to click play.. then.. the instructions began.. Families and Frisbee enthusiasts in the park stood in shock as 200 people silently zombie walked past them Click here for words and pics

Podcasts - gotta mention podcasts. I just discovered them last week and have got very much hooked. For someone who's spending 4+ hours a day in a car at the moment (like me) has 1xMP3 player, 1xPC with internet, they are a ace. 1000's of different radio station, individuals, groups and such from all walks of life are making half hour shows (or editing down the best bits) and sticking it on the web ready to be downloaded onto you portable mp3 player or computer. Audioblogging is also being podcasted. Other software allows you to 'subscribe', so you always have the latest version (most are updated weekly and are about 30 mins) automatically synchronised with your player. (more info on the trusty BBC about it here)

I've got into :
- "This Week In Tech" geeky but great and down to earth often side long glance at gadgets, software, tech companies and people..
- "Top of the pods" - some guy from Peterborough, new top 10 list every week, quite dry.
- "The Don and Drew show", American couple, funny, seem to have cult following.
- "Chris Moyles Podcast" love him or hate him, he makes me laugh.
- "Chris Evans tea and scones" interview / hilights.
and a bunch more, but they are the ones I've liked so far... check out this directory - searchable podcast dir, with rss. podcast.net

Are you a podcast listening? Are you a podcaster?

I'm much more of a summer person than a winter person and allow myself the occasional indulgence to have a winge about the cold, rain, dark etc. but I actually liked the elements this weekend from what I saw of them. (There's no such thing as bad weather, just bad clothing someone once said"..) This weekend had a proper wintry feeling . Early dark, cold etc... but I decided it was nice in it’s own way. Wrapped up warm, perhaps too warm, and headed for a friends back garden to set off some fireworks.. Most of the ones I got clearly stated 25m clearance, so we couldn’t set them off due to garden too small technicalities.. (will save them for a camping mission treat sometime I think) After that we headed up to The Stray with various kids (and a bottle of rum to keep the cold out) for the town fireworks display.. pretty good! (although compaired to last year, I’d say not as big?) Never the less, much fun, ooh’s and ahh’s later we headed back to friends for chili, wine and chating. Top night.
Stayed in the rest of the weekend.watched a film on Friday – “The Terminal” Bill Murry’s new flic. Very good film, amazing set – they built an entire airport terminal! Spent a whole bunch of time reading.. finished “Old Filth” A great book – short listed for the orange prize this year. “Long ago, Old Filth was a Raj Orphan – one of the many young children sent ‘Home’ from the East to be fostered and educated in England. This novel tells his story from birth, in what was then Malaya, to old age..”

Tonight, I was supposed to be doing a percussion set at Cocoon in Leeds (Millenium Square) along side Cloudbass. Cloudbass is ill, so the gig is off :( gutted.. was really looking forward to it.

Been in Harrogate every day this week apart from today (over in Cheshire). Well - pile of stuff to do.. best do it.

Yep -= we are having another baby!
Today's scan (above) went well, all seems OK.
Been trying to 'hold out' on revealing this information to all but nearest and dearest, which has been nearly impossible, thanks to Felix's gleefully habit of saying "guess what mama's got in her belly" to everyone who we see.

So yea - it's 15 weeks, due around the end of April.
