Sophie smiles

I love this photo. It’s Sophie’s first photographed smile. She was asleep (ish) at the time. Wonder what she was dreaming.

Full on life since last bloggage. Thursday, went to see “The Da Vinci Code”. Now, I’ve been accused in the past of viewing the world through rose tinted media goggles, and giving glowing reviews to anthing I read / watch visit etc. but I’ve got to say that (I thought) the film was a pile of pap. I enjoyed the book – it got into the mechanics of the code that eeks out the plot – fascinating. Great tension, great pace, great characters. The film seems to have glossed over a lot of the interesting bits. I don’t know if I’d have been able to understand what was going on if I hadn’t read the book – even though it felt ‘dummed down’. So yea – I’d say if you have read the book – don’t bother, if you haven’t read the book, read one Dan Brown’s better books like Deception Point.

Friday, we set off on a mission to go camping (in clover). We were going to Shell Island, Wales. Just crossed the border and a lolloping crunch happened, doing about 40, thought it was a blow out until we saw the rear wheel overtake us. 7 hours later we arrived home on a low loader. Spent the rest of the weekend painting our back yard, with a rest bite on Saturday when we went to a lovely BBQ in the sun at our friends house and had one of my fave BBQ fayres – Cajun Chicken.
