A great year I think for me.
Had a top Christmas. Got some superb prezzies including a hip flask, a luger telescope and a new bag.
Spent the day cooking. I was at the kitchen stumps for a massive 7 hours getting our 11.5lb goose and all the bits ready.
Boxing Day saw in a bit of disk golf then pub followed by a bit of a snooze then watched the cricket from the MCG. Enough said about that. Shane Warne’s 700th wicket (even though it was one of ours) was worth a watch though.
27th – we all went to a party at a Tinanana’s house. Got clover back on the road as our mobile spare room.
The 28th – another party, in Knaresborough where we got a huge fire together in the back garden and I got to set off a HUGE fireworks display. Interesting fog meets fireworks viewing – was too busy to take pics of it though.
29th – went out for a great curry at Raj Put – blimey that place has gone up and up massively in my estimation! FANTASTIC curry, great varied and interesting menu. Barnez was dish I went for if memory serves me correctly. After that Simon B (who’d also had top curry) and I went to the Iron Duke to check out the mighty mighty Bass Culture Sound System who were on top form, Reggae, Dub and roots through a very fresh 3k sound system. Pint on top of a bucket of curry made is bloat like fat belly porkers. Decided to go for a stroll to another pub for a bit, got caught in torrential rain, went to the Rat for one then back to the Duke. Top night, loads of people out that I’ve not seen for ages.
Think we are off out for a walk at some point today… chill night tonight, ready for a proper large full power 24 hour no shower type NYE.

FIRE in a can
A friend brought me this back from a recent trip to Japan. I am drinking it right now. Imagine really strong coffee with UHT milk instead of water. Gone cold. That’s what you get. Strangely compelling.

View from Morgan’s Café Bar, Earby
In a top room in a café in Earby (the fair town where I currently work) that we have walked passed loads of times but never popped in until yesterday when we popped in and I had a fantastic liver and tatties platter. Ordered steak and kidney pud today. I think this is the future of weekday dining.
Photos from FIRE are all up in a set on my flickr site by the way. I’ll link it all up and what have you, tonight.

Brendan
Spinning long poi like a good un. This was shot at FIRE www.dragondrop.org/fire on Sunday. More to follow – just had to spend $40 on a bit of software to recover the photos off my flash card as it corrupted.

STUNNING night at Fire. What a stormer. Loads of people came out the woodwork. The new venue worked sooo well. It was great to have a place where there is a./ enough room to swing several cats, b./ can tolerate our large sound system and c./ has a great area for fire spinning. We had the big screen projections of the action from outside which looked ace. Stage area was very good looking and sounded tops. The big heavy bummer is that my flash card out of my camera looks like it’s corrupt so I can get the photos off. Been speaking to a couple of people who have pointed me in (hopefully) a way to get some/all photos off corrupt flash cards. (If anyone knows about this please get in touch with me)

FW: One Man And His Dog
One Man And His Dog has allways been a fave telly box prog of mine. Its one of the simple pleasures in life. Imagine my surprise when I spotted that someone with my actual name was competing in said competition.

The Tempest Arms
Top pub, Timothy Taylors Landlord. Cracking menu, free WiFi and its near work. We like it here.

Mint Army
Look at all my little mint soldiers on top of my monitor. Only got a few more to go now to complete the set (full span of monitor). Can you help?

After a dreadful start to the week where we got humiliated at the cricket (and we were doing so well as well) I plodded through a few busy days at work where stress levels were uncommonly high.
Got a new phone recently. It’s superb. A HTC Hermes.
slide out qwerty keyboard. 400mhz pocket pc with a phone, 2mega pix cam, 3G modem / vid conf bla bla uber gizmo. So anyway – the first one broke, (lasted all of one weekend) so I had a courier swap out arrangement with T-Mobile. Man in van arrives, I was told to keep my sim which I promptly forgot to do. Ended up driving to Burnley to get one today.
