Had a splendid NYE. A big bunch of us met up and went out for eats early doors at a Chinese. After that we avoided the armature drinkers that are synonymous with new years eve and headed up to an old friends house. Their kids were away so ours occupied their kids rooms.
Lovely time – just a small bunch of us (about 15) had a huge cache of drinks and goodies to get through. Midnight came and went, the piano guitar and bongo’s were being played, backgammon and connect 4 (!) were being played and we all had a top time. The next morning (super rough feeling) I managed to let their dog out so spent the next hour wandering round suburbia shouting Dougal (he turned up on his own later).
Had a very chill couple of days – went out for eats with the family at the newly re opened Nelson Inn on the A59. Superb menu, food and setting – open log fire etc. After that we went for a nice stroll round Fewston reservoir then I popped into my office for a bit before coming home to prep for a nice chill night. Strange feeling of the world is going back to normal tomorrow after a superb Xmas break.
