toy bettys

Went up to the top of the Yorkshire Hotel today to take some snaps. Played with this experimental “tilt shift fake miniature” style in post. Quite happy with the result!

Went to a meeting to discuss the up and coming Newby Hall Easter fun day. More details on that to follow – give me a shout if anyonce fancies getting involved again!

Just upgraded to the new ‘google powered’ blogger. Looks a bit like the old one with more fizzy bits and a bit less big love. The spolchecker seems better mind.

Tonight I’m looking forward to – off to go and watch the fantastic Tigerbomb and Karl Culley at Harrogate’s newest music venue – Milano’s (*next to Native State).

Draft Peroni, Fondue and Hammocks from what I’ve heard. A pair of pints please barman.

Cricket

Well we won at the cricket! Against Australia! (ECB One Day International Triangle series)
Looking good for the world cup coming up in March.

Top weekend. Went out for a few drinks on Friday night, Saturday – not a lot! Had some friends over. Today I got up at 7 to go round to a Sky Sports wielding friends house to watch as much cricket as I could squeeze in before a round of disk golf. Spent the afternoon cooking (a really nice traditional French Beef Stew) followed by eating and.. chilling.

Holidays and weekends away / short breaks are on my mind and are being planned a lot in my life at the mo. It’s going to be a busy year for hopping about by the look of things. Nice!

Felix Art

Felix made this. I really like it. I love the range of stuff that’s gone into it – different paint techniques, stuck on stuff, plastic wrappers, black paper… it’s all great in my humble unbiased opinion!

Thanks for the thoughts

Just a quick heads up to those of you who have been sending kind thoughts and words regarding Sophie – she’s back to her normal little self now. When I got her up this morning she was proper coo-eee giggly and full of life and sparkle.

Still no snow as yet here – the rest of the country seems to have had a fair portion but here in Earby and back home in Harrogate when we set off there was nowt. Heard on the radio that it’s started in Manchester and Doncaster so I guess it won’t be long now.

Little Almscliffe golden light

Little Almscliffe golden light, originally uploaded by DragonDrop.
A fairly chilled weekend after a rather late one on Friday. Sophie pie has not been so well, ended up in hospital on Friday after getting dehydrated. Poor wee thing. She’s still not keeping food down that much but seems a bit happier in herself.

Saturday we went up to Little Almscliffe. (pictured) we hung out there, played hide and seek and went for a bit of a stroll. Clover our van’s fist real outing since I fitted a klaxon horn to her. She’s very proud of that new noise she can make.

Sunday we had some friends round for Sunday dinner. Quality lump of topside was procured from the butchers (Bulmer’s, East Parade) the day before. Superb chunk of meat which went well with all the trimmings and some of the finest roast potatoes I’ve ever encountered.

Last night I was supposed to be going to watch the Superbowl at a friends house but fell asleep so missed it. Never mind. Cricket could be exciting this week if we beat New Zealand.
