Tiger Woods PGA Tour 07

Tiger Woods PGA Tour 07, originally uploaded by DragonDrop.

Hmm – got a new game for the wii…

Overall – not mega chuffed with this title. It’s cool and there is a lot that’s gone into it but so far, I’m not ‘hooked’

There are 000′s of options, courses and holes which you need to open up by winning other things etc. probably the vast majority of the game I’ll never see because I may get bored of it very shortly. I’ll give it another shot though… I may change my mind.. it may be a ‘grower’

For the last few hours I’ve been riveted to the cricket. 2 shock results in the world cup – firstly Bangladesh, the clear underdogs beat the might of India, but that pails into relative insignificance with the Ireland result, who beat Pakistan. The world ranking 4th , ex world cup trophy holders have been knocked out of the ICC world cup by ‘minnows’ Ireland who are on their first ever world cup tour.

And it all happened on St Patrick’s day as well! Way to go Ireland!

Shame about the England defeat to New Zealand yesterday, spent the good part of it in a Harrogate pub with a bunch of friends watching it. Still – we’re not knocked out through, we’ve got to beat Canada tomorrow to stand a chance. Normally I’d say – should be a doddle but what with the 2 underdog victories today it just goes to show anything can happen. It’s a funny old game is cricket.

Snapped this at the supermarket the other day whilst it was still on the conveyor belt. By the time I logged onto flickr an interesting bit of banter had errupted…

Marmite GUINNESS, originally uploaded by DragonDrop.

paintMonkey

where did you find it? is it rather nice? or is it a disgusting mixture extra thick baby bio and dehydrated beer concentrate.

mimpy

I love Marmite. Used to eat it all the time when I lived in Canada. It would be better if it did have a little alcohol in it.

frogdog1

And my palette says uh urgh to marmite.
Are you going to do a guess my drink with it?

DrHobo

Urgh god argh nooo

mimpy

That’s funny. I think I was the only one in Canada who liked it.

fgt

Yay! Mission accomplished I see. ;)
Breakfast
Yum innit? :)

jimmytofu

Pah… just a gimmick.
Now, if you could re-constitute it with water to make a genuine pint… I would be impressed.

mister brown

I want it!

maverickapollo

Oh My God, as if marmite/Vegimite (Which my Australian Girlfriend used to constantly eat) is not bad enough, they have added Guiness to it?

What has Humanity done to deserve this?

DragonDrop

pM Waitrose, it’s rather nice, if you like that sort of thing (which I do on both counts) It’s taste is 95% marmite, 5% guinness I’d say.
mimpy Most things are better if they have alcohol in them.
frogdog1 may skip guess my drink with this one!
fgt yep! Thanks for the tip off (readers – it was in fgt’s stream where I first caught sight of the wonderful stuff.
jimmytofu it may be just a gimmick, but it’s a rather nice one.
mister brown ooh – you still in Japan? (may be a bit tricky..)
maverichapollo Ha! – you must fall into the ‘hate it’ camp. Polerized foodstuffs are cool things.

mister brown

Yep still in Japan, they don’t even have normal Marmite here, but I can get Guinness

jimmytofu

I’ve found Marmite in Japan, but it’s about £5 a pot.

beer fest bar

beer fest bar, originally uploaded by DragonDrop.

Cracking weekend. This was the scene from the 17th Harrogate Beer festival. Top ale, company and night. Things like that bring so many people out of the woodwork from all walks of life. Poor ol’ conference centre didn’t know what had hit em.

Friday Felix and I went to Drn’s house for a Star Wars extraveganzza. We got through 4. Top night.

Sunday we went out for a relatives birthday lunch to The Royal Oak in Dacre Bank. Top nosh – beef Sunday roast (puddings were a bit of a let down mind) Good ale there as well.
