Grist’n

Spent the weekend up in Grassington – a friend got hitched and decided to get back to his roots for the occasion. I was the ‘official’ photographer as well – those who are looking to see pics of the event – rest assured, I’ll link to them from here soon.

The ceremony itself was beautiful. In a chocolate box perfect old church by the River Wharfe. After that we pottered back to the reception venue. 3 huge triple tipi were constructed (design by tentipi ) and combined to make one space in the middle – easy big enough for 100 or so guests to be seated, a bar and a dancefloor. Another tipi was off to one side for the caterers. An incredible construction. The meal – top nosh, the speakers – mostly very very funny! The party that ensued with a DJ from that there actual London was fantastic. Bar one hick up with a dodgy generator it all went really well.

Yesterday, we all piled on for a game of cricket. I get to join The Primary Club as a result of my stirling efforts on my second innings. Piled home for a movie and fish n chips to round off a fantastic weekend.

Haircut day.

Haircut day., originally uploaded by DragonDrop.

Hello Eirene’s Grandad, here is the proof that I’ve had a haircut! Hope all is well, love to nana.

I’d been planning to have a haircut when all the sheep were shawn. I noticed today that even the sheep that live on top of the Penines had been cut today.

Thornborough 2006

Despite the rain that poured down on Friday night and Sunday afternoon, Thornborough Festival was superb. So many people there who we knew, all having a top time. The highlight for me was probably sunrise on Sunday morning as we sat by the fire, chats with visiting friends, watching the world go by and (the anim below shows but does not do justice) watched one of the best sky’s I’ve seen in years.

Really enjoyed playing alongside Mike H and Jonny Wonny Woo Waa on Friday night on’t main stage – despite the technical thwarts. Enjoyed hanging out with Sophie and experiencing things through her eyes, Musically fantastico (again – hats off to every muso that played) Some top comedy moments and a good game of Cricket at 10 O’Clock sharp on Sunday morning. Even though I was out for a duck.

Photos to follow…

Fest eve

Off to Thornborough festival today – van permitting – it’s in for it’s M.O.T.
If we do end up there, I’m supposed to be playing tonight, on’t main stage with some (TBA) DJ’s and that. Over 70 acts, about 1000 people, 3 stages, beer tents, cricket wicket, it’s shaping up to be a blummin great weekend.

Last year was a doozie. Here are some pics..

Recovery

just about recovered from the stag do.. Lovely part of the world where we were – Near Dunbar, Scotland (although Dunbar itself leaves a lot to be desired – a few good shops mind – superb fruit and veg shop) whilst down the road is North Berwick – a lovely town. Anyway – I’ve been sifting photos for the past couple of nights, will hopefully stick them up tomorrow.
