Pogged

Pogged. Eaten so much and chilled to the max over the past couple of days. Spent a whole bunch of time chillaxing, which is what I'm doing now. Sophies come for her mid day nap at the moment so we're kicking back in our room (the wee'ns have a joining room). Done nowt but eat, drink, read, watch films, swim and hang out for the past couple of days. Pretty blissful existence!
Went for a drive this morning into Graystown on the coast in an attempt to find nappies. The whole place was shut. SatNav and four filling stations later I found some oversized nappies for Sophies bot bot.
Currently, Felix and Jay are in their room, Sophie is just about to go for her afor mentioned mid day nap and a muppet movie is on the telly.
We've never really gone for hotel based chillaxing before but I can see the appeal. Just a tad worried that at the end of it all, real life is going to feel like when you let the water out in the bath before you get out.. all of a sudden you notice how heavy everything feels. Still, whilst I'm still in the bath, it's worth appreciating to the max. Right.. where did I put my book…?

Field blogging

I'm sat here trying out my Christmas prezzy : a wireless bluetooth keyboard for my phone. It's ace. Blogging from the field. Hopefully there should be a photo with this post featuring the boys with a few of their toys they got. Jaygo has got a blue mouth because Santa in his wisdom got Jay some joke 'blue mouth sweets' which he decided to eat all of to himself. (got some funny looks at breakfast just now)

Arrived at a fantastic hotel yesterday afternoon (The Glenview Hotel in Co. Wicklow). The 'rellies' that we stayed with on the Sydney leg of our Australia trip (one of the first adventures to be covered by DragonDrop) back in 2003 are here. Also here are Eirene's nana, grandad and dad.

The boys woke up at about 5.30am to find that Santa has visited them during the night, they seem very chuffed with their selection of goodies! Sophie also likes her stuff, as does Eirene who got a new watch amongst a bunch of other stuff. As well as this fantastic foldaway full size qwerty keyboard thingy I got an Xmen hardback comic compendium, a leather bag, new jumper and a paint your own garden gnome kit!
Well I'm going to sign out for a bit, wishing you, dear reader, a very happy Christmas.

We’re in Dublin

We’re all in Dublin at the moment. We’ve come over for Christmas. Came over on the worlds largest car ferry called the Ulysses. I blagged us an upgrade – nice lounge, free wine (gutted that I had to drive when we got to Dublin) and food. We’re currently at Eirene’s dad’s (a regular reader.. hello!). Today we went shopping in a MASSIVE shopping centre in Dublin called Dumdrum. So many people. I got new shoes and an new bag with some Christmas money. Really chuffed with them. Good time was had by all topped off with a Thai home delivery meal.

Tomorrow were off to stop at a Hotel called The Glen of the Downs in Co. Wicklow. There we shall be re united with a whole bunch of lovely relatives. It’s gonna be grand and/or a good craic. More soon!

No stop

Non stop weekend has just been had after a fairly chilled week last week.
Friday night was party night. Went to a friends house – there were a bunch of lovely people there and we all had much fun. The next day I conscripted a bunch of said party goers to help me move my office from it’s town based location (as the landlord is hoofing us all out because he wants to do it up) back home. We were all feeling rather rough as you can imagine, and the compounded confusion that ensued as a result of complex furniture and stair combination was at times troublesome. Never the less, we loaded everything bar one shelving unit (couldn’t find an Allan Key) into the van that we’d hired and went back to my house. Filled the front room, much to the disgruntlement of the kids in their trying to watch a film. after that, a well deserved rest.
Sunday, Eirene and I went to a wedding. It was billed as a “no kids” type wedding so we got babysquishers. Poor Sophie decided to thrown up all over the table at cafe rouge, later Jaygo was violently sick just before bedtime. The evening babysitters asked us to come home, did that cleaned up sick, settled them down, later more sick then in the middle of the night, more sick from me. Yesterday I was wiped out with this apparent stomach bug all day. I’ve heard it’s ‘doing the rounds’ at the moment.

Today, I’m working from home.
Christmas is coming, really looking forward to it this year – I break up on Friday. yay!

365

In the continuing theme of my 365 day project, here’s the potted highlights of the last few days; (it’s been a fairly chilled few days..)

On Friday I went out for a Chinese in Skipton with some colleagues.

On Saturday, we slobbed about then went to a friends birthday bash. This was nice. Good food, good wine, good company. Can’t ask for much more than that really.

On Sunday, we got up and went to Church with Felix and his cub troop. They made Christingles. It all felt very very Christmassy. Followed this up with doing pretty much all our Christmas shopping on line (pats self on back)

Last night I got an ‘early doors’ shout from an old friend – ended up having a early doors, then a early evening drink then followed this up with a big pile of curry at our house. A lovely night. Had some seriously hot chili!

72

I’ve been doing this project now for the past 72 days where I take a photo of something “I like”, every day. It’s been quite interesting so far. As 36 is a neat 6 x 6 and I’ve got 2 of those, I thought I’d stick ‘em on dragondrop.
