A few nights ago, a few of us were in my local, discussing Tomorrow’s Word of all things. This science and tech program I’m sure had a massive influence on myself and a lot of my peers. We decided that it should be brought back as a./ it’s extremely relevant to today’s society and b./ it was brilliant. I made a note to email the BBC and ask them. Whilst hunting for info, I came across the BBC Archive website. What a gold mine of retro goodness it is.
With a mainly news and factual content, such as News: “on the eve of the Apollo 11 launch“. It’s incredible to listen in the this past time and imagine how hooked and immersed on the project the entire planet must have been.
Back to Tomorrow’s World – they have a great back catalogue of episodes of this classic TV. Looking at this show from 1979 on “The Mobile Phone”, It’s quite incredible to see how amazed the presenter was at introducing the concept. Would any of them of really believed if we told them how much this come on. Fascinating. Worth a look.
