It’s been quite a week! So Jay’s condition got worse, then better, then worse again. On Friday night they decided to scoot him across to York in an ambulance for an emergency operation to drain his infection and reduce the pressure in that area of his head. I had an awful drive as the A59 was closed and the diversion signs were far from adequate. After getting lost in Nun Monkton (which I went back for a quick explore in daylight on the way back from the hospital on Sunday, as it’s such a nice looking spot – see above photo!) I ended up going via Wetherby to get to York. Stress factor 10! Managed to get to the hospital just in time for Jay to go in for his op. It seemed to work as by Saturday he was in a lot less discomfort and by Sunday he was allowed to go home. He’s still getting double / blurred vision, which is a bit of a worry, but loads better than he was.
