Friends gone home now. Been out for what was a lovely few hours. Brave face wasn’t hard. Good food company cricket banter. Perhaps the beers have made me feel sorry for myself. Perhaps the brave face isn’t as easy as I thought. Just want all my lot home to roost now. Bit sad. Lot sad. Don’t worry though. This is… Read more →
Eirene just sent me this photo of Sophie trying on Jaygo’s glasses. Made me laugh. Popped in to see Jaygo last night by the way – good spirits. Eirene and I had some intravenous medicines training – a life skill I never expected to acquire. I went in again this morning – he’s had a good, relatively peaceful night by… Read more →
I popped into hospital this morning on the way to work. He had a good day yesterday but quite a rough night last night. Eirene has been with him. He’d been talking about Dada food a lot so I made him a Matt Spesh Brown Windsor Soup last night that he’ll hopefully be tempted with for lunch. Jaygo showed me… Read more →
There are apparently some fruit machines out there in the wild now called DragonDrop. What ever next?
Lego, originally uploaded by DragonDrop. Super nice to see him doing something he enjoys doing.
I’ve been micro logging Jaygo’s ins and outs (above pic). It is quite handy and actually makes me feel a bit useful. Poor lamb is up to 62 vomits in total after this mornings sick-a-thon. They are in consultation with Leeds over this – could be do do with too much fluid around the brain. Diaretic pills subscribed for this… Read more →
I am so very proud of not only my boy Jaygo but also my Felix and Sophie who have been putting up with this all admirably. Even tonight when I was hitting a bit of a low patch at dinner, Felix patiently and maturely asked if I was OK and gave me a bit of support. Sophie has been wonderful… Read more →
Just got back in from the hospital. It is so nice having him back in Harrogate. It meant I could sit with him for a couple of hours and Eirene could see the other two for a bit. He told me he is feeling quite a lot better. He is looking a lot better. He has been keeping food down… Read more →
Just a really quick update – Jaygo travelled from York Hospital to Harrogate Hospital today (by Ambulance) and we are really pleased that he is closer to home. We are waiting on some results from a blood test to see if his anti coagulation injections are ‘doing the job’ at the moment and trying to pin down when he may… Read more →
Eirene just sent me this pic of our boy Jay. He’s at the canteen at York Hospital eating curry and chips.
Things have settled a bit now. Things have got a bit of a roadmap of how they may pan out. Jaygo has been on the up yesterday and today. They have removed his monitor machine (the machine that goes beep and constantly monitors and records his heart rate, respiration rate and blood saturation). They have taken him off hourly observation… Read more →
Our initials, originally uploaded by DragonDrop. Came home from a weekend in the hospital to find that two lovely friends had done a garden make over for us. New flowers, mended bench, solar lights a little bee and these painted stones. It looked so nice and was such a lovely welcome home – I sat in the garden with a… Read more →
It’s about 01:45 – almost exactly 24 hours since my last blog. I’m phone blogging this from the York hospital. For the first time in days I’ve just experienced a total feeling of calm. The machines stopped beeping (they do that when things are good). He was in-between his hourly obs (where they have to wake him) and inbetween drips… Read more →
Just got back from York Hospital. Jaygo conditions has taken a turn for the worst. His MRI scan shows that he’s got thrombosis / two blood clots on the veins that drain the brain called the venous I think. (Not right up on human hardware). He’s been moved to a High Dependency Unit. It’s a known knock on effect from the massive infection he’s… Read more →
