vin book, originally uploaded by DragonDrop. I’ve just had this photo of mine used by in this article by The Guardian. Thanks to Simon TW for the heads up. I think I should open a bottle of wine to celebrate or something.
Saturday involved a trip to Leeds General – for Jay to have some blood tests. All is roughly as it should be according the the results. He’s making good progress. After LGI we went to IKEA and came home to receive some guests for a very informal tea. I was totally honoured to be asked to be Godfather to a wee man who’s about… Read more →
Friday saw me and a friend popping out to a brand new pub in Harrogate. The Fat Badger on Cold Bath Road. I’d seen some noise on twitter about it along with rumour that it was a VIP ticket only launch. The power of social networking to find real-time information was proved to be hugely powerful – I put the… Read more →
Yesterday a accompanied a colleague on a road trip. He’s writing a piece on TV’s “The Trip” (2010 starring Steve Coogan and Rob Brydon.). If you’ve not seen The Trip – it’s good – they tour the North of England for a week, stopping at some of the finest gastro haunts we have to offer. They take in some of our spectacular… Read more →
Had a bit of a rummage in our cellar this morning with a view to sorting stuff and clearing out some junk . There’s a few of things in there from the people we bought our house off about 11 years ago. I picked up a dusty old scrap of newspaper and was about to throw it in the bin when some… Read more →

I’ve liked a few other teas – Ringtons Gold (which was once subject to a tea off – documented on this very site) and Barry’s from Dublin. I work in Lancashire – just over the border. I smuggled Yorkshire… Read more →

Here is Jaygo receiving his first ever text message (from his Mama) moments after another first – first ever sending of a text message. We got a spare mobile to leave at the hospital (then as a spare phone to have kicking around) guessing it may be largely adopted by Jaygo – certainly for the time being.
Magic room, originally uploaded by DragonDrop. Jaygo has been OKd for a home visit today. His friend from school popped over for a visit. Eirene and I are sat in the front room drinking green tea, eating lush brownies (that same friends mom made) and it feels like a normal Saturday afternoon. The simple pleasures in life and that. Adding… Read more →
Sleepy ay home, originally uploaded by DragonDrop. So Jaygo has been allowed out of hospital for the last 3 afternoons. Great to get him out and about. Yesterday we went to Bilton Gala for a bit – but it tired him out. Here he is having a bit of a kip on our sofa. I snuggled up with him for… Read more →
Felix in a Sinclair C5, originally uploaded by DragonDrop. Superb day yesterday. They have changed all of Jays meds – no more anti biotics for a start – resulting in a whole 8 hour gap between meds – which the staff at LGI advised we made the most of and get out of the hospital and into the sun. AYE… Read more →
