Just been in a dream where I was at a rave. On the fringe part, near a bar with some benches and people. I took the part of an older dude where the younglings asked me about raves of old. Megadogs and Manchester I told them. And a rave in an indoor equestrian arena where the DJs were in the glass commentary box. Then there was an American guy in a kilt and I asked him what house his tartan was. My subconscious self couldn’t compute of a suitable punchline to that, so I woke up.

Dooks?
I don’t have a punchline for you, but I suspect your dream is your subconscious coming to terms with both the imminent birth of baby #4 and your milestone birthday later this year. That’ll be what the reflective rave event populated by the next generation you were on the fringe of was all about. The American in tartan represents the counter intuitive evolution of heritage and culture. It’s a passing of the torch type thing. You’re getting older, ceasing to be as relevant to contemporary culture, which is fine, because you become the accumulative wisdom of old school stuff.
oh look, our time is up.
daren – that is an amazing psychoanalysis. Freudian and quite plausible. I’d not thought of it as ‘meaning’ anything. . . but yea, what you say all makes sense. The milestone events are on my mind, obviously, but I’ve been batting the worry side of their meaning off a little.
Thanks!
