I actually felt the warmth of the sun on my face for a bit today. The picture above sums it up for me. Full of the joys of spring*. North Yorkshire was kissed by the blue sky vibe today and thankfully, we were out and about to enjoy it. A trip to the vets first thing saw Elsie (a dog) have her neck drainage tube removed (good, she’s happy – pictured above). Soon after, we headed up to a friends house boat and thought, on a day like this, what an agreeable abode a boat would be.
From there, we headed up t’ sticks to pick up Felix (a son), who’d been on a sleep-over and met a lovely family. A beautiful old farm building, with an early bloom of blossom in a tree, looking over a textbook gorgeous valley.
…and met their kitteh…
We dragged ourselves away and headed back into the ‘gate, where I took some film into Boots 1 hours photo service. (results, now up, on my flickr stream). An hour to kill in town? Pint at the Blues Bar, thought I where I got inspired by the dish that a friend was waxing lyrical about, as the bags he was laden with contained all the pre requisite ingredients. I went home, via ASDA and cooked a similar sounding thing; chicken, cream / mustard / taragon sauce with potatoe daufinnour and wilted spinach. Nice.
So that brings us up the the here-and-now, where I’m currently at a friends house listening to some internet radio show, and blogging. And having my friends say “I can’t believe you’re blogging, you’re like Sarah Jessica Parker”. I really should crack on with some beer drinking and being a bit social with the assembled assemblage.
*So – here’s one to leave you with – Spring – is it “March, April, May” (as I think it is), or “Feb, March, April” as Eirene and St. Bridget think it is.
