We’re (so far, touch wood) finding that Annie is slotting into our lives like she’s always been part of it. Annies first night home last night and we had a fairly good nights sleep; she hung out with us ’till 10 ish, then a last feed, then down in her little cot. She slept until 5 ish then up, quick feed and change pit-stop then down again for another couple of hours.
At 08:00, slightly later than normal I took Elsie (a dog) for a walk around the stray and wrapped a kitenge around myself with a baby front sling knot. The great plus point of doing this on a cold morning like this morning, is that it’s like stuffing the front of your coat with a hot water bottle. Only much cuter.
We bobbed back into the hospital today for a routine check up. A thorough examination where they measure and listen, test and check several things to make sure baby is AOK. She passed with flying colours. We’ve had a couple of visits from close family – and had the washing machine (that was delivered minutes before Annie) sorted.
All fairly blissed out and chilled. The only grr moment I’ve had in the last few days has been a slight altercation with a vending machine in the hospital. Even that with it’s stupid ‘that particular 20p coin isn’t good enough for me’ policy didn’t cut through my cloud 9 bubble too much. Speaking of the bubble – We’ve had so much love and well wished our way over the past couple of days. It seems our story (yesterday’s post) has struck a chord in a lot of peoples hearts.
Thanks everyone who’s liked, commented, texted, emailed etc – it’s made us all smile a lot 🙂
