I’ve cited a fella called Lomokev a couple of times recently and how I like his work. I asked myself what I liked about his work, and came up with some stuff that can’t be replicated or emulated – like his natural gift, or the ‘right time, right place’ factor, but I figured I could at least have a go at emulating his set up. He mentions AGFA Precisa a few times, and how when you cross process it, the colours are super sexy. I quite agree. He likes (as his name implies) LOMO cameras a lot – particularly the LC-A. I recently picked one of these up. After a bit of hunting around and research I found that they don’t make AGFA Precisa anymore, but found some – expired. I guess it’ll be getting rarer and rarer now so I might as well enjoy it while it lasts!
Today – busy busy – I’m quite nackered now so ‘scuse the quality of my prose and/or reportage… I’ve also been playing with Gravitar – this ‘universal’ profile that does the job of hooking up all of your other accounts into one profile has recently merged with the company behind wordpress. Long and short of it is, I’m now able to add a wordpress ‘like’ feature onto my pages, allowing other bloggers to like my page. Odd phraseology that – of course, they could like the page before, but not like it in a social networky kind of way. One step closer to being part of the wordpress social network, proper.
I made a really nice herring in oatmeal and hazlenut coating for lunch and made two curries for tea before driving to Pudsey to pick up a new washing machine.
Still no signs that my beautiful wife is going to give birth any time soon. Due date Monday. Well… s’pose I’d better try and grab some sleep whilst I can!
