Squeezed a huge amount of things into this weekend inclucing the settings of a geocache on the ‘new’ cycle path. My geocache ( www.geocaching.com ) has joined one of over two milllion other geocaches throught the world :: http://coord.info/GC496F6 . Theres three parts to it – the first, is a puzzle. The second a GPS based hunt that leads you to a container with a set of coordinates leading to the final cache, which is a plastic box filled with goodies and the all important log book.
It took the first geocacher less that two hours to find it after it was published. That’s pretty good going for something that would take I’d guess 20 minutes to crack the code, then at least 30 minutes of walking to get too.
It starts out from the car park at the bottom of Bilton Lane near The Gardeners Arms if you fancy a crack at it, and as the name implies, is bicycle friendly.
Other than geocaching I’ve been to Menston near Otley. Eirene won something on Ebay. Impressions of Menston was that it’s a bit snooty. Apart from the guy I got the article in question from, the rest fo the road users, the person who gave me directions, the person who I made wait a split second longer than neccarary at a junction for – all gave me far too much more scowl than was required.
Afternoon was lovely though. Caught up with some old friends who’ve got as many kids as we have at their barn out in’t sticks. Food, drinks and chat. Elise (a dog) made a new dog friend and taught her how to play stick.
We’re now chilling in bed, Just put the kids to bed for the last night for the mammoth Easter break – back at school tomorrow for them. Lovely lovely constructive weekend.
Had good w/e vibes meself too – http://awbackhouse.com/down-on-the-farm/
