…since I wrote a blog using a Nokia. Probably the early 2000s on a communicator 9210. I remember being amazed that a could blog, from a field.
Over the last few years, my field blogging solution has been provided by android, and I actually feel quite a lot of brand loyalty to androogle. They’ve only really got the one blot in their copy book and that’s the way they ruined blogger.com when they bought it.
I converted to WordPress from blogger, and so far, the WordPress app on windows 8 is on par. I guess this sums up a lot of my experience – comparison based. There’s nothing major that I can’t do (apart from instagram and flipboard) but there’s some new stuff that I can do, like cinemagraph (which is superb).
Overall though, the experience is very slick, smooth and clean. Loving the way you set the home screen up. Making big buttons near the top for the stuff you use a lot is great – generally finding the route to the stuff I use the most, shorter.
I’m finding the odd bug in the WordPress app now, like as I type, words eventually disappear off the bottom of the input box under the formatting tools and an error, message when I want to view stats telling me to upgrade jetpack 1.9 or above (when I’m on 2.2.5)
Guess I’m typing this to get it out there. Hopefully a WordPress happiness engineer (genuine job title) will get the tip off that there’s a smidge of sad face going down in his hood.
Right so. The new keyboard is lovely. Seem to be as quick in it as androids counterpart and the fonts are so clean. I’m going to conclude this blog by attaching (if it’ll work – it should be an animated GIF) an image.
