We’re at Poppit Sands near St. Dogmaels / Cardigan in West Wales. Cracking spot and I’m pleased that we’ve got one of my fave spots on the whole campsite affording amazing vistas across Cardigan Bay and Cardigan Island. The picture above is a quick snap of Felix making dinner just now. We had a brief visit from our friends who make up part of the cast of this years Abbey Shakespeare production, next weekend at St. Dogmaels Abbey.
Pretty wiped now, after a long drive and a fairly complicated set up of camp. We’ve borrowed a Conway trailer tent – superb thing it is – the awning gave us a bit of a head scratcher though, as we’d not seen it set up before. Got there in the end. Such an amazing and ingenious design – it all unfolds into several parts including a kitchen areas (two hobs, a grill and a sink), two double bedrooms, a dressing area with cupboards and draws and a large covered space. The boys are sharing a tent outside – that’s caused a row or two on set up. A few ratty moments but all is calm and quite now.
I’m now hoping to have a bit of a read as I listen St. Georges channel’s incoming tide.
Conway’s are fantastic, Matt. We’ve had one for my entire 25 years of life, and I have loads of happy memories fighting with the brother about who gets to sleep in the ‘under-tent’ under the beds. Hope you’re having a fab time. I wish we were down there. I miss Cardigan!
