For no discernable reason, I walked to Knaresborough this morning from my house in Harrogate town centre – down the river path. We’d done part of the walk last week but the idea of carrying on to and going all the way to K’bro appealed. Elsie (a dog) and I found a couple of geocaches en route including a rather cunning one disguised as a an owl. The walk was hot, and quite close and humid – it felt almost tropical rain forest in places. After a couple of hours or so, we were greeted by the tell tale Knaresborough sign of row boats on the river. Nice walk. This was all back on a night at a friends last night celebrating a birthday after “the hottest day of the year” apparently – where the powers that be actually issued a heatwave weather warning.
A short bus ride and we were back home, in time for haircuts and Chicken Cesar Salad. Tonight could be fun, we’re off to a family reunion type thing near Manchester. I’ve got a Coq au Vin in the oven, I’d better get a wriggle on. It’ll just be me and my ‘glitter of girls’ as my ‘battalion of boys’ have gone off to scout camp for the weekend.
