We were up in the Kendals today. Kendal, South Lake District that everone knows about, then Burton-in-Kendal that’s actually not in Kendal but about 12 miles or so south. We were collecting an awning that Eirene spotted on Preloved that may be suitable for our campervan (I’m yet to be convinced that it was a good idea). Anyhoo..
I spotted a geocache near Burton-in-Kendal near Kendal called Sophie’s Cache. Given that my daughter is called Sophie, and it’s fairly easy looking child friendly credentials we thought we’d give it a go.
A beautiful, sun dappled and very peaceful area – just what we needed to stretch our legs for a bit. It wasn’t long before we’d found the cache..
Inside, a few fun bits to swap – including a novelty octopus eraser, that Sophie swapped for another eraser – and of course the log book..![]() |

A lovely cache in a lovely spot. The only problem was trying to convince Elsie (a dog) that it was time to get back in the car.
Great blog & lovely pictures – thank you 🙂
