I nearly went to two things today. First, the cricket. I had tickets for England v Australia ODI at Headingley but I didn’t go – mainly because when we got the tickets, months and months ago, I thought it was a Saturday match. It wasn’t until recently, that I worked out it was a Friday match, and, given the fact I’m less than two weeks into a new job, I didn’t want to ask for short notice time off. As it got closer and closer to the day I was resigned to the fact I’d thrown £54 down the drain as I couldn’t find a buyer. Turns out though, that the match was abandoned anyway due to the rain which didn’t let up all day. For once, the rain worked in my favour – I’ll be able to get a full refund of the ticket.
The second thing I nearly went to today was to a camp site. I made no secret of the fact I didn’t fancy setting off today, in favour of setting off in the morning, which I hope we will. I’m looking forward to it now. There’s a fair gaggle of us going for a joint birthday. Should be fun. The weather which has been hideous all day in Harrogate (and Headingly) has reportedly not been, near Filey. It’s been dry and “the sun has been trying to get out” according to the forward reconnaissance party, who have convened and reported back from their outpost near the coast this evening.
I think we’ll go camping, in the morning.
In case you’re wondering, I nearly went and walked past this wooden frame that someone had propped against a tree that I spotted whilst out on a dog walk this morning without taking a snap. I’m glad I didn’t, as I like the resultant image, which I called “Still life”.
I love the frame 🙂 HAve a fab weekend and give my love to the birthday girls x
