Functional Bloggage

So, it’s the second time recently, I’ve started out a blog post with the title “Functional Bloggage”. I’ve got to blog every day, as I’m over 3/4 of a year into my quest to ‘blog every day this year’ (just in case I’ve never mentioned that.). Occasionally though (like today), I find myself with little to blog about. I’ve had a busy day at work and have had close to zero time to find inspiration outside that realm.

Inside that realm though, it’s been a different story. Recently, I’ve been wrestling a huge chunk of information that represents thousands of ‘man’ hours worth of work. I’ve got to grips with it, via the powers of Microsoft. I’m immersed in a Product Backlog. Carving and slicing it, questioning it, prodding and probing it, from all conceivable angles. I’ve left no stone unturned. Microsoft Visual Studio’s Team Foundation Server Agile set up is an incredible bit of kit, when you’ve got the development across three time-zones of a complex product to think about (which I have, for the record).

This week has flown by so far. Each day brings new challenges, yet chalks up fresh achievements. I’ve got a spring in my step and I’m coming home each day with a feeling of job satisfaction, starting each day (usually on my dog walk) sparking new ideas and connections of how things will fit together. By the time I get to work, I’ve quite often, had a brainwave of some sort to get me going for the day ahead.

Nearly the weekend already. I’m looking forward to it. I’m DJing again at ZoSo in Harrogate, which could well be turning into a bit of a thing.
