Around the third of January, when I started my “blog every day this year” quest, I wrote ” I’ll try and avoid the“Here’s a blog about my lunch” cliché, but I can’t guarantee it’ll be entirely lunch free.”. So far, I’ve done pretty well, but today’s blog (or part of it at least) is going to tell you about what we’ve just had for tea.
Big fat lamb chops marinated in olive oil, garlic and lemon juice. A big dollop of Salsa Verde (that I’ve just made batch of). The Salsa Verde was a special request from Eirene for Christmas. It’s got an incredible taste to it. Probably due to it’s ingredients : anchovies, capers, parsley, rocket, mint, garlic, marjoram and olive oil. It goes incredibly well with lamb. This, and a bunch of thyme roasted butter nut squash, some wilted spinach and a glass of red. Beautiful. Eirene had made a chocolate cake as well which finished things off nicely.
The shopping part – Xmas shopping, where I seemed to spend a alarmingly large amount of money on an alarmingly short amount of time. I’d set my sights on a pint or two at The Blues Bar half way round, as my Christmas shopping tradition doth dictate.
All good. Right, I’m going to chill to the max for a bit, it’s been a full on few hours.
