Tonight we went to a friends to have pizza and exchange Christmas presents. Our lives have been so busy that it has taken till now for us to have an evening free at the same time. Daddy John is getting Chocolate vodka. He and I share a love of chocolate and chocolatey things hence my inspiration for his gift.
I came across the recipe when I was researching how to make the perfect espresso martini. The recipe I was following called for butterscotch vodka. Should you not have butterscotch vodka in your drinks cabinet it can be made in the following way.
Take one bottle of vodka. Chop up some toffees. Add the toffees to the vodka. Screw on the lid. Seal the lid of the bottle with cling film. (now comes the magic) Put the bottle in the dishwasher on a hot cycle. Voila, butterscotch vodka or any flavour vodka just change the toffees to something else and repeat. So far I have made butterscotch vodka, chocolate vodka and strawberry bootlace vodka. I thought the chocolate vodka could be used to make a mocha expresso martini. Yum.
I’m quite partial to a drop of liquorice vodka myself. Now I know how to make it, thanks to you Eirene! X
