Instead of the weather spoiling the weekend, this weekend we were spoilt by the weather. Eager to make the most of the sunshine we headed to the Cow and Calf a rock formation up on lkley moor where Matt had organised a geocache trail. It seemed most of Yorkshire had the same idea as lots of parked cars overflowed the car park and lined the immediate road. This location has been voted in the top ten most scenic picnic spots in England and gazing around at the spectacular vista it was easy to see why. We were on top of the world and spread around us rolling hills hazy in the warm sunlight and beneath us tiny buildings like a scene from Lilliput. Although there must have been hundreds of visitors there today, it didn’t feel crowded and we were able to enjoy our walk in peace, nicely rounded off by an icecream.
