I am watching the new Superman film with Jaygo. We watch an installment every night after I have put Sophie to bed. Tonight the baddies attacked. As Jay and I cowered on the sofa he whispered to me, ‘ do you know where they should hide?’ ‘No’, I whispered back, ‘where?’ ‘In the genitals room.’ ‘What?’ I gasped. He looked… Read more →
I Have just finished reading this wonderful book set in New York circa 1920. The story revolves around two brothers, one blind, the other suffering the after effects of being gassed in World War 1. As time passes the already eccentric behaviours of the brothers become more obvious, emphasised by the contrast to their prominent residence on Fifth Avenue. Beautifully… Read more →
We had cookies and cream icecream cake for desert. Annie was allowed some as a special treat. She did get a little covered in it though. A bath was definitely in order.
Today the three bigger children attended the St George’s day parade as part of their respective scouting units. Here is a picture of Sophie in her beavers uniform
Today was a chilling at home, relaxing and reading kind of day. A lovely friend sent me ‘Starcrossed’ by Josephine Angelini after recommending it to me. Set in Nantucket, the story is a modern twist on the the ancient Greek tale ‘Helen of Troy’. Written in an easy style the book is unputdownable. Every opportunity possible I am buried within… Read more →
Aunty Tinanana came to visit today. We spent a lovely afternoon chatting and spending time with the children. Annie-Mo even smiled a sign she is definitely on the road to recovery, hurray. Christina’s play a very important role in our family at Dragondrop. We have three of them all shortening their name differently, which is handy or it would get… Read more →
The children returned to school today. Only one more term to go until the summer holidays. This school year is speeding by. This morning I was worried as Annie-Mo was still making no improvement. In fact she seemed to be getting worse. Her ears were so sore she couldn’t relax whilst feeding. Our doctors surgery is brilliant and an appointment… Read more →
We enjoyed a relaxed day today making the most of the last day of the holidays. The weather helped out by opening up the heavens when we were about to venture out for a dog walk. We about turned and went back inside. Well, at least we tried. Annie-Mo visited the doctor today as she was still poorly. Apparently she… Read more →
Sophie with the keys to her new bicycle. She had a wonderful birthday filled with presents, yummy food and lots of her favourite people. Also it was the first Dragondrop bbq of the year. The weather was fine and Matt did a fantastic job cooking.
Little lady is a little miserable but seems to be on the road to recovery, thank goodness. Just in time for her big sister’s birthday tomorrow.
Annie-Mo is poorly. She is hot and bothered and sad and very cuddley. I think it may be her teeth again. Today, much of it was spent on the sofa with her, snuggling. The others also took the opportunity to cosy in too, which was lovely. Jay regaled us with some new jokes he has learned. Here is one I… Read more →
We had a lazy day today but also quite social. We visited the children’s grandparents and were treated to hotcross buns and pink wafers. Sophie was in her element as she loves pink wafers, and when the blue ribands were brought out I think she nearly popped with happiness. Felix slowly ate his own body weight in hotcross buns. When… Read more →
Below are some pictures from the first bbq of the year. The friends were lovely, the food was delicious and the children had a great time decorating eggs. What a brilliant start to the bbq season.
Sophie has outgrown her school shoes. I prefer to buy Clarks shoes. I am not sure if they really are best for little feet now a days, but when I was little and my mum, a chiropadist, bought my shoes, she always bought them in Clarks. She used to talk about the damage other leading shoe manufacturers did to growing… Read more →
