I Have just finished reading this wonderful book set in New York circa 1920. The story revolves around two brothers, one blind, the other suffering the after effects of being gassed in World War 1. As time passes the already eccentric behaviours of the brothers become more obvious, emphasised by the contrast to their prominent residence on Fifth Avenue.
Beautifully written with well drawn characters this book reminded me of ‘Carter Beats the Devil’ by Glen David Gold and ‘The Amazing Adventures of Kavelier and Clay’ by Michael Chabon . My verdict is that Homer and Langley is a very good book to start and one you never want to finish.

I am stuck in time. Circa 2014, York Railway station. Thankfully I have 15% of that book left to read and a while to kill.
