Today was a chilling at home, relaxing and reading kind of day. A lovely friend sent me ‘Starcrossed’ by Josephine Angelini after recommending it to me. Set in Nantucket, the story is a modern twist on the the ancient Greek tale ‘Helen of Troy’. Written in an easy style the book is unputdownable. Every opportunity possible I am buried within its leafy pages. As a child I adored Greek mythology devouring tomes at every opportunity. I would emerse myself in that magical world emerging afterwards with a feeling of loss for the land and time I been inhabiting but which didn’t exist in the real world. I believe ‘Starcrossed’ is part of a trilogy, so I have a while before I run out of book to read again.
