Sophie needed a new mattress for her fabulous new bed given to her by the lovely Jules. The bed was from Ikea so after plying Matt with beer last night I managed to persuade him that Ikea was definitely somewhere he wanted to spend his Saturday afternoon. So armed with measurements, the correct Swedish bed name written down and girl children we arrived at Ikea Leeds. One and a half hours later we departed Ikea with a boot full of mattress, white crockery, two green rugs and three alarm clocks. Five hours later and Sophie is asleep in her new bed on her new mattress hopefully having sweet new bed dreams. The two green rugs now carpet the front room is a most pleasing verdant manner and each child has either put in an order for two triple A batteries or is jealously gardening the ones they found and placed on charge. Who knew Ikea alarm clocks didn’t come with batteries? Not me.
