What to wear

Whilst Annie was asleep today, I took the opportunity to prepare what I am to wear tomorrow and on Saturday. Often, with so many children running about, it’s almost impossible to find the right items of clothing, and with time of the essence on both days, a little forward planning won’t go amiss. I did feel rather strange though, as the occasions I am worrying over are so different. Tomorrow is our good friend Chris Edward’s funeral. Matt is being pall bearer. He also is worrying about looking smart enough. Neither of us want to let Chris down but I am sure he won’t mind what we wear. In fact I bet Chris would say, the more outrageous and sci Fi the better. Maybe I should don my twillic headress and paint myself blue in his honour instead of the boring black ensemble I had planned. I mentioned this to Matt but somehow dressing up as a Tie fighter in an orange plastic sowester on one of the hottest days of the year didn’t elicit masses of enthusiasm. Plus he thought we might scare Chris’s family. Boring black it is then, for both of us.
Our Saturday events are at the other end of the spectrum. We have two weddings to attend. A bit tricky to be in both places at once so we will spend the daytime celebrating with one family and the evening dancing and carousing with another. Jay will get another chance to air his white suit. That’s definitely something to look forward to.
