Annie is learning british sign language. Apparently babies who can sign are able to communicate their needs at an earlier age and are less likely to suffer tantrums and terrible twos. I am not sure how much that applies to Annie who’s favourite signs are cat, bird and milk. I suppose as long as those signs address her main desires and requirements we will be ok. She can also sign toilet/nappy, tree and insect. In the morning she can see the birds sitting in the trees outside my bedroom window. Annie likes to point and sign bird to them. Matt found some pictures and sounds of ducks on his laptop and together they sat entranced watching, listening and signing to each other. It was such a beautiful thing to see.
