We decided when we first bought Elsie that we would like to have one litter of puppies. Apparently the optimum age for a bitch to breed is three years old after two or three heats. The time has passed so quickly and all of a sudden Elsie is starting to look like she may be coming into season. She is a little tetchy and quite interested in the attractive male dogs we encounter on walks. They in turn think she smells wonderful. I turned to the internet to research finding her a nice husband. He has to be a chocy lab, athletic looking, great legs and a good personality, preferably living locally with his own garden. It does feel a little odd trying to find a mate for Elsie. I am not sure Matt and I are ready for some big male dog to have his way with our lovely gentle Elsie. However, I have found a lovely looking labrador called Rolo who lives locally who could be just the dog for her. So it’s a wait and see when Elsie comes into season, if she likes Rolo and all should all go to plan we could be having puppies at dragondrop. How very exciting.
