Today Annie and I spent the morning in the lovely company of Nanty Nina and Aunty Tinana, eating chocolate Danishes and drinking coffee. Matt sent me a picture of Elsie on the front page of the recent Holiday Cottage’s brochure. The picture was taken when he used to work for them. This weekend we camped in the party field to celebrate Tinana and Kath`s birthday. We spent a lovely weekend sitting by a camp fire, toasting s’mores (marshmallow toasted and squished between the chocolate side of a digestive biscuit) drinking fizz and pina coladas, chasing Annie and Max around and generally having a splendid time.
The lovely Jules brought us a crumble filled with the most amazing array of tasty fruit, apple,pear,blackberry,apricot,plum and ginger. It was almost half demolished before I could even get a photo. I commented to Matt how delicious the crumble was. His reply summed it up,’Well you didn’t think a desert made by Jules would be anything other then brilliant.’
Tinana gave me a squash plant. Look who I found this morning wandering about with an empty packet of sugar from the paper recycling area and a tooth brush she had purloined from the bathroom. She was dipping the toothbrush into the sugar packet and then sucking the sugar granules off it. Interesting method of brushing her teeth.
The children started back to school today. Felix is in year eleven and will be sitting his gcse’s this academic year.
