Annie-Mo is such a big fan of home grown fruit and vegetables that it’s rare she will allow a strawberry to develop it’s full luscious flavour and ruby red hue, preferring to nab each one at their small hard green stage and then sneak off to eat it behind a garden chair. Annie also likes to steal tomatoes thinking that they are strawberries. She does look surprised when she bites into them and discovers their tomatoeness. I have discovered one vegetable that so far seems Annie proof, our winter squashes. A few bites have been taken but most of the squash have been left on their stalks to ripen. I wonder if that is it, she has given up or will she go back to try again later?
