I am sat, instilled in a rare moment of peace. Annie is asleep, Matt is working, Sophie is at a friends, Felix is at music club and Jay won’t be home till later. The house is silent apart from at quiet bubble of eggs on the stove and the hum the fridge cooling down. From where I am sat at the breakfast bar, I can see the sky, a pale blue spread with whispy clouds. Golden, awaiting winter’s early sunset. A sudden cry from upstairs and the peace is shattered. The house again vibrating with the exuberant child energy that fills it almost constantly.
