I have just heard that my favourite author Terry Pratchet has died. A writer who married great belly laughing humour, thoughtful insites into society, parodies on famous books and bringing astro physics to the masses. I first encountered Pratchet on the boat to England when my mum and I were emigrating. The Wierd Sisters was a novel unlike any I had read before and started a life long passion for his novels. My favourite is Good Omens where Pratchet collaborates with Neil Gaimen on a novel about the end of the world featuring the alternative four horsemen of the apocalypse and the little known Welsh town of Panty Gyrdl. It is rare that I will reread a book but all of my Pratchet’s have been reread inside out and back to front. A very talented author has left this world and I send deepest sympathies to his family.I have no doubt Pratchet is right now strolling around Ank Morpork having been kicked out of Sto Helit for giving those gods hell.
