Today Matt and I are experimenting with the fast diet other wise known as the 5:2. The basic idea is that you eat what you want 5 days a week and restrict your calorie intake on 2 non consecutive days. Matt’s allowance today is 600 whilst mine is 500. Intermittent fasting is supposed to kick start your body into fat burning, reduce inflammatory conditions and promote a healthier body. I like it because it fits in with what I want to eat which is currently paleo, I have the will power to stick to fasting 2 days a week, I do want to loose a little baby weight accrued with Annie and also I would like to see a reduction in the dark circles and puffiness under my eyes. Matt I think likes the control it gives him over his diet, he too is happy to stick to a restricted eating pattern two days a week and he loves counting calories and offsetting them against how much exercise he has done. He can have a pint or two if he has the calories spare. Matt suggested us trying 5:2 which by itself is enough reason to give it a go and support him whilst taking part myself. I have uploaded myfitnesspal app onto my phone and every morsel today is being logged. Myfitnesspal app keeps track of calories consumed, steps walked and weight. If by any chance i was still growing it would keep trackof that too. The only problem with step tracking is I need to keep my phone on me at all times, not easy in a skirt. I also don’t completly trust it’s accuracy but it is at least more accurate then my guestimated count. So mushroom soup.and salmon salad for lunch and salmon and veg for tea with a carrot, pear, ginger and cayenne smoothie should I feel peckish. Spice is definitely the way to feeling full on less. If Annie and I jog to collect Sophie I may even be able to squeeze some 85%chocolate to my allowance.
